I'd like to meet:
I'm interested in networking and making new friends. Also I find different cultures interesting, so it'd be nice to hear from people who aren't so local.

IM
You may talk via some IM client if you wish, BUT:
Keep in mind I do have a life outside of the net - don't nudge me every few seconds if I don't reply immediately
Don't just use me for attention whoring yourself, which means I want you to make an attempt to be interesting and don't just expect me to entertain you without making an effort yourself.
I loath conversations just for the sake of "talking about the weather" ... in other words, don't just keep talking about the same old (unless I respond positively, which means you will normally have my attention).
Online communities I am actively part of
GIMP Talk : Graphics tutorials and art community.

Music:
Most genres, At the moment mostly rock, particularly classic, metal, psychedelic, grunge, progressive, punk ... every other kind to a lesser or greater degree.
Movies:
Ghost In The Shell, Indiana Jones, Dead Poets Society, House Of Flying Daggers, Lord Of The Rings, Back To The Future, City of God, Pulp Fiction, Ace Ventura, Mice and Men, a lot of others I wont list though most stuff that can hold my interest.
Television:
Don't watch much TV, but normally stuff like Top Gear, The Simpsons, Films and witty banter. And new favourite anime is The Boondocks! (well close)
Books:
Mostly non-fiction or manga ... but I plan to soon start reading The Catcher in the Rye (along with a quad-zillion more textbooks I want to get through). I feel like I should also read David Copperfield, since my granddad made my dad read it so it's like a legacy. I also have a love of poetry and am always writing things down, amazing what can develop from an episode of The Simpsons.
Heroes:
Many people I respect ... in fact more often then not, I can always find at least one thing about a person I can respect. Minus that there aren't many people I look up to, no posters on my wall or people I obsess over. The main quality's important to me are strength of character, strength of mind, understanding, courage and love. I also respect people who have the balls to say what they honestly think.
