Sir Plus

Born in Brownsville, New York raised in Bedstuy Brooklyn also Far Rokaway, South Ozone Park, and Hollis, Queens hails the emcee named Sir Plus. Also no stranger to the south part of Plus' life was spent in Hollister, and Greensboro, NC. Being from the city he was witness to lots of the madness that comes along with the city. As result of this Plus' family began to move to a much more calmer, safer enviroment which they found in NC. As he began to become a young man he took after his uncles who were into music pretty heavy. Plus started writing, often pretending he was a big time rapper like his favorite mc's Rakim, and The Notorious B.I.G. As he grew older he became very fond of his social studies and english classes, in which he was introduced to poetry. He looked at poetry as writing rhymes with no beat which also sparked his love to just write. By the time Plus reached highschool he was performing at school functions, talent shows, and school-yard battles. He began to understand the power of words, the flow and rhythm that could be created with these words and learned that in music is definitely where his heart was and still lives. Now pushing 24 years old Plus has in his words (mastered the coordination of sentences). Music and writing to him has become far more than just writing itself. He learned that direction, creativity, and longevity depends on your passion for whatever it is you do. So now he uses his music to express himself in a way that grasps people by the ears leaving them no choice but to listen. His style is a mix of northern and southern not too much of either. Plus since he was a child was one who never liked to "fit in" or as he says "jump on the bandwagon". If everyone was rocking jordans he rocked shelltoes, if everyone rocked grills, and chains down to their kness he wore no jewelry period. With him being this way he has established a sound unlike any other artist to date. By refusing to "fit in" PLUS has made a name for himself producing, writing, and performing from NY to NC. Now residing in Greensboro, NC and on top of his game Sir Plus refuses to take no for an answer and has grown a determination to be the "King Of The Boro". He was asked why and this is what he had to say " i mean i feel like everDONOTBLOCKOURADSybody around here is just trying to sound like what they hear. Nowadays the industry overlooks artists who are actually lyrical, talented, and saying something worth listening to for artists who are willing to lay down say "yes sir" if thats what u want that's what i'll do. I'm not that guy, i make music for myself first and foremost and i believe one day not just the industry but also the fans and the youth will realize the bullshit they're being fed and wake up ans smell the folgers!! I feel i can be bookbaggish if i wanted, or commercial, political whatever but why be one when i can be all at the same time? Why make a hit single and not a classic album? Thats backwards to me... ass backwards, so if it take me a million years to get where i'm going then so be it. At least i know i didn't jump when someone told me to, i stuck to my guns and what i know. I've kept it nothing but 100 (truthful, honest) to myself, my fans and my music and i wouldn't have it any other way!!!! So therefore if no else is gonna step up and show the world Greensboro isn't another ATL, or V.A. or a knockoff N.Y. then i will. I'm not from here true indeed but i'm here and it's not where u from, but where u at anyway. And to anyone who feels different you can either ride with me or watch me ride by!! I love this city just as i do Brooklyn and have worked with artists all across Greensboro. But if no one is gonna step up and show the world this is what it is then i will, point, blank, period!!!! ___ _____ ____
