With a sweet melodic voice, Singer/Song writer Shanique is slowly captivating ears and a buzz of attention. Since 2008, she has already recorded numerous songs with big names in Hollywood such as Tichina Arnold and has also written and collaborated on songs with Universal signed singer/song writer, Rufus Blaq. In June 2008, her music was released on Radio in Jamaica and the people wanted more of her. At the time, the singer was recording in Florida. Upon demand, Shanique was flown into the island where she performed for a sold out crowd who screamed for an encore performance. Leaving Florida was not difficult for Shanique since she was born in Portland, Jamaica in the fall of 1987. Her parents often say “it is indisputable she is destined to be a star.†At an incredibly young age, it was evident to her parents that her heart was bound to fulfill her dream of being a singer. By 9 years old she was already writing her own songs and performing for family every chance she got. Growing up in Jamaica, she was widely influenced by the smooth sounds of Roots Reggae, Lovers Rock, and Dancehall. After being introduced to R&B in the 90's, she was thrilled to find the different fields to which she could showcase her love for music. Shanique is a fresh new artist with a style and unique voice of her own, a trendsetter, and the embodiment of talent and radiant beauty.
