.. -- END NIFTYMAPS.COM CODE --The idea behind “The Onirika Project†started with a continuous desire to satisfy the musical and technological thirst of its creator (Alvaro Aro) who later on, would ask his brother (Gonzalo Aro) to join as a multi-task creative source from visual concepts to remixing behaviors.
Alvaro or Al, as they call him in the States, started his musical journey around 1993 when he and Ricardo Allemant decided to have a chat with Javier Vera and Ivan Peralta (then seniors at the same school).
After this first encounter, they eventually formed Xplora with Allemant on lead vocals, Vera on back vocals writing most of the songs, Aro on synthesizers and programming, and Peralta as a permanent “always there†technological guru. Vera would also give Aro the initial idea for the name “Onirikaâ€.
During this time, Aro and Allemant would also join a band called Realidad Virtual with Jason Fashe (now Vorace, www.vorace.net) and Cesar Leiva (Arian 1, www.arian1.com) for a short period.
Gino Valdiviezo also joined Xplora as a guitarist after a “one time only†audition at Allemant’s house.
Xplora then continued on with a few changes here and there (check out www.xploranet.com for all those details and more).
After a few years, Al left to New York to attend classes at Manhattan College but after some time, he decided to move to Grand Rapids, Michigan.
On the other side, the other member, Gonzalo Aro continues his Architecture Major Studies at Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Michigan.
The Project has Al focusing on the technical and musical side while Zalo (as his friends call him), takes care of the “club-oriented†side of the mixes focusing also on the visual and artistic influence to the project.
This page was created with the intention to share our songs, mixes and all other creative side of us with family, friends and future friends all over the globe.
Onirika wants to thank you for stopping by and taking a look at this crazy world of us. See you around!
P.s.- Oh yeah, they also joined the US Marine Corps, but that is a whole different story on its own.
