Tony Perry, local Acoustic Vocal Jazz sensation is currently performing in support of his new release “Ghost in the Attic”, a collection of Favorite Jazz Standards, originals and pleasant surprises. His voice tempered by time and his soul infused with fire, Tony sets out on a journey of musical nirvana He puts a brand new creative spin on everything he touches. His musical range is Autumn Leaves and God Bless the child to Blueberry Hill and Boblicity. His musical influences include his father (Big Al), Count Bassie, Billie Holiday, Moes Allison, Bill Evans and Duke Ellington. His live performances include his band featuring some of the best players around, Jack Joshua on acoustic bass, Jim Monahan on mandolin and guitar, Steve Temmel on guitar and vocals and Tony Perry on vocals and percussion. Tony honed his musical skills by working in the jazz clubs of New York on Bleeker Street, such as the Village Gate and the Bitter End. Shortly after his tour of New York City, Tony joined the Moonshiners and played in many clubs in and around the Boston area. That gig led to him joining his brother John in the Serendipity Singers. With the Serendips, Tony performed on all the major television shows including The Ed Sullivan Show, Johnny Carson, Mike Douglas and the Kraft Music Hall with Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. His interest in jazz music stems from the first time he saw Billie Holiday at her final concert at the Lenox Music Barn in Massachusetts. Tony is very active in local theater. Especially the Rubicon Theater in Ventura, where Tony has appeared in the production of The Rainmaker with Stephanie Zimbalist and John Perry.Tony was born in Williamstown, Massachusetts and has lived in New York City, Ireland, Portugal before moving to Ca in 2000. Tony comes from a very talented family. His brother John Perry is a well known actor and singer in the musical group the Ojai Valley Boys, Debbie Perry playwright and Mia Perry actress and singer. Of course, Tony’s famous nephew is television and big screen star Matthew Perry.
