Life isn't about keeping score. It's not about who you're dating, who you dated, or how many people you've dated. It's not about how many friends you have. It's not about if you are gorgeous or ugly. It's not about if you are fat or skinny, what color hair you have, or the color of your skin. It's not about what grades you get, how smart you are, how smart everyone says you are, or how smart tests say you are. It's not about how athletic you are or how lazy you are. It isn't about changing yourself so people like you. Life is about the people you love and the people you hurt. It's about who you make cheerful or miserable. It's about keeping or betraying trust. It's about friendship. It's about what you say and mean. It's about what judgments you pass and why. It's about jealously, ignorance, revenge, and fear. Most importantly, it's about using your life to touch or poison other people's hearts in such a way that could have never occurred alone. Only you choose the way those hearts are affected, and those choices are what life's about.
My name is Maria. I'm 16 years old and from southern New Jersey. Recently my life has been getting back in order. I have been through things that you couldn't imagine, but i am still here, stronger than ever. My friends have helped me through a lot; they are my life, and without them I probably wouldn't have made it through the rough times. I have really bad trust issues. If you gain my trust, don't break it, you'll never get it back. Racing, sleepovers with friends, and walking around the mall for hours are what I enjoy doing the most. No, I don't race, I would probably kill myself if I did. My dad does and has been since I was 4. Before that he used to pit for NASCAR, so I have been around racing all my life. I've made mistakes in life, probably more than I can count, but in this world, who hasn't? I learn from my mistakes, and when I look back, I don't regret anything. One thing everyone needs to know is that myspace isn't everything. If I spent every second on myspace, I would not be the person I am today.
