Anthony D'Amato

About Me

ANTHONY D'AMATO doesn't waste time. At 21-year-old, he’s already released two albums and performed all around the East Coast, both as a headliner and as the special guest of artists like Jesse Malin, Marah, Willie Nile, HYMNS, Quarry Hill, and Joe D’Urso. His music has been featured on a number of radio stations, and in the spring of 2009, D’Amato was selected out of more than 100 other songwriters for a showcase slot at the New Jersey Folk Festival.
D'Amato self-released his latest album, ‘Shades of the Prison House,’ in July, and it's quickly drawn comparisons to songwriters from Conor Oberst to Donovan. The album was recorded in a dorm room, with D'Amato playing acoustic/electric/steel guitars, bass, keyboards, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and accordion in addition to handling vocal duties and producing the whole thing. Fiddler Brittany Haas of the innovative folk band Crooked Still guests on “Skeleton Key” and “Hank Williams Tune.”
D'Amato grew up in New Jersey. He is currently still growing up.
