Much of what is contained in this synopsis is supported by physical and photographic evidence in the hands of District Attorney's Child Abduction Unit and the files of the Superior Court of Orange County, California. Additionally, there is an abundance of sworn testimony from independent eye-witnesses, private investigators, family, friends, and media investigative journalists, just to name a few of the sources that you can go to for corroboration of what I tell you in this website. It was my first year of law school.We were instantly in love much to the chagrin of her parents. Despite their efforts to break us up we grew closer and closer. Upon turning 18, Susan moved out of their house and we took an apartment together. Instead of taking accountability for being bad parents and driving their daughter out of their house, they blamed me. From that point forward, Susan’s parents claimed I stole their daughter away from them. They swore revenge.In 1978, we moved to Huntington Beach, California. Susan and I were pretty wild kids. In those days, (1978-1982) Huntington was a big “party town”.We were married on June 6, 1981. Of course, her family refused to participate in our wedding. All during our time there, they did all they could to hurt her and refused to accept our marriage. This affected Susan and me deeply. We dealt with it poorly. We drank heavily and did a lot of drugs to the point where I overdosed on freebase cocaine. Susan saved my life.She and my Mom, Mae, got me into rehab back in New York where we lived until 1985. I have always loved her for helping me recover. She was my best friend and we essentially grew up together.During our time in NY, we had our boy, Christopher on March 25, 1984. Susan was a California girl and because of her wishes, we moved back to California in May, 1985. At that time our life was very good in spite of the vicious interference of her entire family whenever they had a chance to disrupt our lives.On August 18, 1986, we were blessed with Lisa Mae, our baby girl.The wild drug days were over for me. I had a great job in a Los Angeles law firm. I was moving forward and upward.Unfortunately, I had a very long commute to and from my job. I was on the road anywhere from 3-4 hours a day. I was in the office another 8-10 hours. So on the average, I was out of the house up to 15 hours a day.Susan was feeling neglected and alone. She was over-whelmed by motherhood and housekeeping and the isolation from our relatives, i.e. my Mom and Aunts and Uncles, cousins – all who had welcomed her into our family. They all helped her while we lived in NY but in California she had to do it alone.She was also suffering from post-partum depression after the birth of Lisa. The doctor had prescribed Elavil to help her but Susan took a different course. She secretly self-medicated with cocaine and crystal meth. She went through extraordinary lengths to cover up. It wasn’t too hard though. At night when I got home I only had eyes for the kids and was so tired that I failed to see what was so close to me.In June of 1987, she confessed to me. I was so trusting and in love with Susan that I believed her when she promised me she’d stop and get help from our family doctor.She had gotten us into great debt. Susan had always handled our money. I took out a loan on a custom show car I was saving for Chris and paid everyone she owed money to.But Susan never stopped, She got worse. She accounted for her drastic weight loss by saying she was anorexic and told me that she was seeing our Doctor but it was all a lie. In retrospect, I was in denial. I guess I could not believe that she would do such things behind my back or hurt our children.She wrote over $6,000 in bad checks. She had gotten a secret post office box to where she had diverted all the NSF statements, warning notices from the utility companies, insurance cancellations and so much more.But some things leaked through to me and we argued a lot about the condition of our home, the care of our children and some phone calls I had gotten at work.Eventually she knew she was in big trouble, not only from our creditors, but also from the Police and her drug dealers (who she had stiffed on money).On the morning of November 20th, 1987, it all came to a head. Susan, after being confronted by me and my Mom (who was visiting us) about a bounced check, went ballistic. She physically attacked me. I defended myself initially but I chose to retreat out of the house hoping my Mom and time would calm her down.It was the biggest mistake of my life. After I left, Sue beat up my 66 year old Mother and threw her down a flight of stairs. She made some phone calls to her co-conspirators and the children were taken. Apparently, Susan had had all this planned. A conspiracy to abduct and remove the kids out of California was set in motion. It involved 10 people, including a divorce lawyer.Through investigation, we later discovered that her parents were feeding not only her drug induced paranoia but her drug habit as well. Like vultures sitting in a tree, for ten years they waited for a sign of sickness or weakness in our relationship. Behind the scenes, they had convinced her that due to her addiction and crimes, she would lose the children and if she wanted their help, she had to steal the children. They finally got the revenge they had sworn to wreak on me. I “stole” their 18year old daughter so they stole my babies 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 years old.They never gave me a chance to help my wife – if I had only seen.Well, within a day or so, the Orange County Sheriff’s showed up to arrest Susan for Check Fraud. I got threatening calls from drug dealers. Within a week, all my utilities were shut off for non-payment of bills. Both of our cars were repossessed. I learned that Sue had cleaned out our bank accounts and stole $30, 000 from my Mom. The devastation was complete.I had my first nervous breakdown in August of 1988 and the second hospitalization in 1992.I have searched for 20 years. I have spent and/or incurred in damages over $1, 000, 000. I have given my life to my children and the children of others. My Resume’ and Addendum of Personal Endeavors tells the story of my advocacy for the plight of missing children. I have made landmark case law, written Legislation, traveled the country doing media appearances for this Cause and many other things to increase public awareness on this issue.But it all comes down to one thing. I love a little boy named Chris and a little girl named Lisa Mae – for they are the best thing I have ever done.
