Learning new things, watching movies, playing video games, cooking, playing sports (which I hardly ever do anymore), and if I could afford it, traveling, seeing the world other than through a camera lens.
Some power players in the film, theatre, broadcasting, and video game industries so I could find a convenient path to working in the business. But aside from my more self-centered aspirations, important and influential people like world leaders and multi-billion dollar corporation CEOs and the like to try to convince them to give back to the world that they have taken so much from.
I like a lot of instrumental music that is usually featured in films. As for commercial music, mostly rock and alternative but also adult contemporary is something I look into more now (I guess that means I'm getting older.)
Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, The Matrix and other science fiction/fantasy movies. Glengarry Glen Ross, Oleanna, and other Mamet works. Usual Suspects, Fight Club, Memento, and other great dramas. Swingers, Knocked Up, and other comedies.
Science Channel, National Geographic , History Channel specials. Sports programming (particularly Met games), alot of panel like discussion programs that pop up at all different times. Documentaries about a particular subject and anything I feel like I can learn something from.
I very rarely read for entertainment purposes, most of my reading is school related and more technically oriented. But I did like Ishmael by Daniel Quinn and 1984.
I wouldn't call them heroes of mine, but people I respect. Physicists, Engineers, and other great scientists. And, of course, the great filmmakers of today and yesterday.
