In 2005 Divine Sonz formed the non-profit Virginia Youth Are Yearning Foundation to help at risk youth in their homestate. To raise awareness for the organization the first V-yAy Day was held on September 10th, 2005. The event was a success with over 1000 people enjoying the food, fun and performances held at the Dogwood Dell amphitheatre in Richmond,Va. A talent show was also held with youth performers from the greater Richmond area.
V-yAy 2006 looks to be bigger & better Co-sponsored by Charged Up Entertainment,106.5 The Beat & Fox 35 Richmond. Also lending their support to this year's event are the City of Richmond councilman Marty Jewel,Richmond Parks & Recreation Dept., Chik-Fil-A, Dzine Detail and Associated Insurance(Kevin Hunter).To inquire about sponsoring, vending, volunteering, or you know a youth who would like to be a part of V-yAy Day 2006.
