Since the 2004 release of BRASS KNUCKLE SURFER’s debut album “The Art of Lifeâ€, Paul Mercer, Mike Barnes, Juan Garcia, and Mike Morris have spent the past 5 years busy performing live shows, working on numerous different projects around the clock, and finally finishing their new record, “Sin Palabrasâ€. While their first effort was recorded and mixed live within less than a week, their sophomore effort took nearly 10 months to track, 3 months to mix, and several more months to find artwork worthy of representing the band’s new canvas of sound. The new record has without a doubt captured the development, progression, and solid chemistry that only years of playing together can accomplish. Armed with dozens of guitar overdubs, percussive compositions, electronic interludes, and guest musicians including sitars, horns, piano, and vocal chants, “Sin Palabras†is an album that all instrumental/ progressive/ experimental/ art rock enthusiasts will enjoy over and over again. From the soothing and beautiful opening track “Flotation Deviceâ€, moving to dark psychedelic tracks like “Zoltaurâ€, horror soundtrack chaotic sounding “Capacitanceâ€, suddenly changing into a viola featured, middle-eastern sounding “Devadesi†with haunting female chants, and finally ending with a very hard rocking and orchestrated “Flesh of the Godsâ€, BRASS KNUCKLE SURFER has managed to create a very diverse album that will keep listeners on their toes waiting to see what lurks around each corner. The band has even added some hidden tracks amongst long stretches of relaxing rainfall at the end of the record for those curious and patient enough to await the prize. After a 5 year wait, fans of BRASS KNUCKLE SURFER will undoubtedly be very pleased with the 2009 release of “Sin Palabrasâ€â€¦...HAUNTED MOUSE LIVE...
