When beginning to write this piece I thought "This should never have begun this." And why? Because it will never end. Describing him in one word or phrase would be utterly, well, impossible. I've known him for nearly 5 years (a little over 4, WHATEVER!), and he is the testiment to me stating that all things better with age. Humble beginnings evolved into a wonderful friendship.
But who is Afee? That is the question. No humble words or stereotypical phrases such as "diamond in the rough" can describe him. Yeah, he's 20 years old (April 6th), a college student, 5 foot-something and handsome. He's Mr. Sportscenter. But above all and most importantly, he's the type of person to be there when you need a shoulder to cry on, a smile or just someone to talk to until 4 in the morning. He will be the one person who remains to save you when all others run from the fire. He's the one I run to when I need someone, and when there is no one left, there is always him.
He's my best friend, a (few gazillion) cut(s) above the rest, and he is the best person I know.
