If I can't live it down, might as well live it up...

About Me

This is why I love sports:

My Interests

SPORTS (watching, playing, reading about), cooking, reading, learning, traveling, and spending time with all of the wonderful people in my life

click the jayhawk for more info on my favorite team

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who can make me laugh. Like Bill Simmons (click to link to ESPN's The Sports Guy's World) and
David Sedaris

And Pearl! (The Landlord: A Will Ferrell Short)

And Peyton. I've got a little bit of a crush on him. :)

And whoever created this very useful little site which provides TV coverage maps for the NFL. Because I want them to make one for college football and basketball also.

Music:

life really should have a soundtrack. i like something in just about every genre - rap, classical, country, jazz, rock, pop, showtunes. heavy metal and muzak i could do w/o.

Movies:

i LOVE drive-in movies and old movies (think breakfast at tiffany's, how to catch a thief, north by northwest). some contemporary favorites: any given sunday, zoolander, la vida e bella, enemy at the gates, memento, when harry met sally, for love of the game, little miss sunshine, my big fat greek wedding, lemony snicket...

Television:

SPORTS! west wing and sex and the city used to be my favorites (think i've seen every episode at LEAST twice). now i'm hooked on veronica mars (but they're cancelling it, sadness) the daily show and the office.

Books:

Ah, this could take a while...I love reading and I actually own more books than movies or cds or clothing (or anything really)...Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, anything by Margaret Atwood, David Sedaris, and John Irving, the poetry of E.E. Cummings, Sylvia Plath, and John Donne, Eleven Minutes by Paolo Coelho, Watership Down by Richard Adams, White Oleander by Janet Fitch, The Sweet Season by Austin Murphy, A Sunday by the Pool in Kigali by Gil Courtemanche, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, The Velveteen Rabbit by William Nicholson, Harold and the Purple Crayon by Liza Baker, Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns, Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson...just to name a few.

Heroes:

My dad. I know that's cheesy, but it's true.
