I was born and raised in Vasterhaninge south of Stockholm Sweden. My own love and appreciation for music started at an early age and always knew that I wanted to be a professional singer. I performed in different varieties of bands and participated in every concert at my music school. After graduating a private music collage in Stockholm I started to write my own songs and became lead singer in her own namesake band – called “Helena Johansson†My most prolific musical influences were Emmylou Harris, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Trisha Yearwood but also pop and r&b artist’s such as Madonna, Mariah Carey Whitney Houston. I knew that I wanted to write and sing songs like those coming from my favorite artists, and quickly realized that Sweden, my home country was the not going to be the place to pursue my dreams of a career in music.
So, in September of 2006, I moved to Nashville, via a flight across the Atlantic from Stockholm, and landed at Nashville International. Shortly after I arrived, I came in contact with writers and artists who sensed my talents and passion, and decided to help my gain introduction to some of Nashville’s most successful songwriters. I have also been out performing my songs at different established clubs and venues throughout Nashville.
