We write, sing, play instruments, cut up, entertain, live and play hard as a duo.... I will do a blog soon of all our cool past performances.now, sometimes we pull in the whole band and do shows, these shows are more like a concert of all of our originals or sometimes we get hired to do a private gig ..... once in a while we will do a Memphis club.We have an awesome group that we play with, they are definitly Memphis finest players.... Influences: As for influences.... well,,,, this is Pam speaking so i will tell you my influences, actually i was influenced greatly in the Southern Baptist Church. My dad was and still is a Southern Baptist choir director. My family all sing so growing up, my sister sang the melody lines, my mom sang the alto, my dad sang tenor and I was the youngest and always left to search for a part that sounded good. I learned at a very young age, like around 5, to harmonize, blend, use good diction and belt out loud enough to wake the sleeping baptist on the back rows of the church.. I always had a rougher sound to my voice than anyone else in the family and I was always the rebellious one so I pushed my music in a different way than the rest of the family. My father definitly is the one that taught me all the important things about singing. So, I would have to say he was my first influence in this music biz. As I grew older and started to realize that there was a whole world out there of singers and performers out there I then started admiring certain ones for different reasons... Tina Turner.... oh, my,,,, what soul, she has greatly influenced me. I am sooo in awww of her raw and real performances.. Carol King for all her wonderful songs that she has written and shared with us for years.
Janis Joplin for the totally raw and wild ways of delivering herself. Cher for pulling off such a different sound with her voice and being able to keep her sex appeal through every performance. I have many, many favorite entertainers...... these are just a few
I'm not very into the basic everyday kind of singer. You know, the ones that you can hear on any block, anywhere....
I love different sounds and TONS of soul and energy given from a singer.Terry has been my influence on the harmonica..... he's the one that put it in my hand one day on stage and said......PLAY....."blow and suck"..... for real that's what he said, that's what he did and that's how I learned.....
