PND

It all started in 2. february 1998. Four young punks Edis – drumer, Krishyanis – gitarist, Pavasars – vocal, Didzis – bass player established a band called PND. To tell the truth I don..t really remebmber all the details... But I remenber for sure that we didn..t know each other for long. Ofcourse exept me – Pavasars and my brother Didzis, anyway that wasn..t a big problem. They just asked us if we wabt to play in a punk band. And we didn..t thint a lot and answered – yes! At that time fact that we (exept Edis who knew how to play drums – a little) didn..t know how to play any musical instrument was of no great importance. The most imortant was the idea itself - idea of punk band. Looking back at those days I am thinking that exept idea of PND there was nothing else. Just the idea and us! Maybe we were a punk band without music. Well, it sounds funy, but it was that way. We were good friends and we had some good times. Main was the idea of PND punk gang. And music was just a future plan or a dream, if you like. Playing punk music was unreachable dream for us, so we were just being punks! Well, there is nothing much to tell about this part of PND history. Ofcourse it wasn..t like that all the time, PND developed from our idea to real band – we bought a bass guitar it was made in USSR in seventys. It..s called URAL and it was reconstructed by a gret guitar master. And by the way we are still playing it, but now it..s getting too old and I hope soon we..ll buy a new one. Then we bought a guitar (I don..t remember what kind of guitar it was). It isn..t so important. Anyway our guitarist run away with our brand new guitar. He just disapeared! Later we got to know that he moved to live to United States. After some two years we met him here in Latvia and he..s not a punk anymore. Ofcourse we needed a new guitarist. And somehow it happened that Edis friend Edy – punk from Sigulda. People called him a Hedgehog because he had a hairstyle like SID did. For some time we didn..t meet. But when after about half year we did it was clear that for them PND – the idea, band, unity... was of no importance. They were not punks any more. They had new ideals – heroin! So me with my brother pissed them off! It all changed in the beginning of year 2000, when PND changed for (I hope) last time. Now PND are old members of the band Didzis – bass, Pavasars – voice and new guys Valters – guitar, Martinsh – drums. It..s interesting that PND actually is two pairs of brothers (Valters and Martinsh are brothers also). When the new musicians came all changed dramatically. Music started to sound more like music and old proverb that PND makes noise not music didn..t fit anymore. After the gig in 18. march 2000. (it was the first gig with the new members of the PND) band got it..s first manager – Mironis who has done a lot for PND. In the 2. february of 2001. PND got another member – Michelis (Mi--elis) who plays a trompet. Since then PND has five members: Martinsh – drums Valters – guitar Didzis – bass Pavasars – voice Michelis – trompet, voiceSo... And now we are still playing and we hope we..ll continue to make good punk music for a long time!value="transparent" />....
