About Me

"Okay, so I'll try very hard not to bore you," begins musician Josef Gordon. His modesty is probably the second thing you'll ever notice about him, the first being his intense passion for his craft, but Josef Gordon is about to make his mark on the world, not for his humility or his Texas manners; he's about to show the world that he's a singer. And a very good one, at that.Josef is half magician, half singer. He is nimble and mysterious, and he always surprises. His voice is lithe and acrobatic, reaching a range worthy of Freddie Mercury, and his control will convince you he's got performance tires on his vocal cords. The greatest voice never to grace the stage on American Idol, Josef is Moby Dick to Simon Cowell's Ahab: great hair, great personality, and most importantly, a great singer. In fact, Josef was mentored by pop-star icon of the 80s and 90s, Sinitta--herself a muse of Simon Cowell--and a catalyst for his fame. With Sinnita championing Josef's voice, and an enthusiastic set of songs appearing on his debut EP "Find My Way", ladies and gentlemen, it's time to cast your votes. But before you do, perhaps you want to learn more about this Texas native. For starters, he's not really starting at all. Writing songs on and off from the time he was five, Josef has spent a long time crafting his art, making him the most veteran of rookies. He co-penned two songs with one-time collaborator Jimmy Needham, one of which visited the No. 2 position on the Christian radio charts, for a cozy 11-weeks. This song, "Lost at Sea," and its sister-song, "Wake Up," both appear on the Inpop release, "Speak."The initial success of these songs, combined with his innate creative talent has turned Josef into a prolific writer. Those close to him would do well to mind their Ps & Qs, as he transforms daily encounters into melodic vignettes and would-be anthems for the listless MTV generation. In fact, Josef can often be heard saying, "I wrote a song about that too." And he has. His daily life provides fodder for the distinctly R&B-flavored music, making it richer and more mature than his 22 years. These songs, cradled within infectious pop beats and well-crafted melodies, all governed by a commanding voice, make for an edgy and exciting new entry into the musical world. Ladies and gentlement, the votes are in, and its Josef Gordon, by a landslide. -Myke Harrison
