‘Hip Hop’s Ultrabeast Emcee’
Hip Hop’s influence has reached many places in the world, from starting in the Bronx in the mid 70’s to spanning across the globe to places we never though would ever hear the music that what was once called a trend. Sometimes it reaches a place we can’t describe, and until now, it hasn’t been presented with such passion as the emcee True7 from Rochester NY may bring to the game we call the music industry.Born on Aug 27, 1981, True7 has more than experienced his share of trials and tribulations. Many of these tales and living testaments has ultimately led him to his current mind frame- that Hip Hop cannot stand on it’s own. Throughout his childhood, True had to endure seeing his parents go in and out of jail on various drug charges, but it was his uncle, a major B boy on the scene, that sparked his interest in Hip Hop’s culture. ‘I used to watch him working the turntables, break dance, paint’ says True, ‘I just picked up on all of that and kept it moving’ That is exactly what True has been doing since, aside from local battles and showcase, he has had the opportunity to open for established artists such as Styles P as well as out of town at events like the Capitol Imaging Group Power Summit in front of over 50 different labels in attendance.True7 has been featured on mix tapes such as ‘Da Hardest’ Volumes 1, 2 and 3 but its’ his latest offering ‘UltraBeast’ hosted by Remy Ma’s official DJ, Bedtyme357 that has gained him a lot of street noteriety and laid the foundation for his next project ‘Son of The Hood’ LP slated to release in 1st quarter on 20010.Today’s Hip Hop movement can’t stand on it’s own, many have forgotten where it has come from, so they have a hard time figuring out where to take it. ‘When I was younger, I used to hop in ciphers only to be told I was wack’, says True ‘let’s just say that doesn’t happen any more (laugh), My style is real now, no fronting and nothing fake" just give me a track then fall back, word’!
