J Da Costa is a singer who hails from London’s “east end”. She has been involved in the entertainment world since the tender age of 6 when she appeared in a television commercial and she was also is a former child model. J’ also loved playing the guitar and was writing songs at the age of 4! J has also been a main character in an ITV prime time drama. J’s first love however has always been music and she has worked very hard over the last few years laying the foundations for her ‘about to explode’ music career. Her first public performance was closing the show at the very first UK Asian Music Awards performing on stage alongside Pras of the Fugees and Apache Indian. She also performed live at the Carlton Music Awards and both performances were broadcast to hundreds and thousands of people. Since then 'J' has been busy writing and recording her own album. Former M.P. Oona King, is quoted in her autobiography saying that “J never ceases to amaze me” J also took time out to collaborate with 'The Bad Boy Jackal' & 'Hypnotize Crew and created a piece of musical excitement with energy in J’s own inimitable style. This brought the Hypnotize Crew the best ever Album and music video to date. J’ contributed a lot of writing of the Album including the lyrics for “Pit Stop” as well as making a significant contribution towards the formulation of the treatment for the “Pit Stop” music video where she performs lead vocals. J has also appeared in Channel Zee TV’s artist ..... J Da Costa is now on fire and raring to set the charts alight with her amazing forthcoming solo Album! With amazing producers on board including Mehi whose worked with the likes of Craig David and Djinn on additional production and mixing duties, together with Dobie who was has worked with Soul II Soul/ Jazzie B and many more. J DaCosta's first tastenof the music industry was when Swami (Diamond) asked her to perform with Apachie Indian and Pras from Fugees live @ the Carlton music awards and she closed the very first uk asian music awards.
