Damice Johnson (D-Sota) Bio
A young, talented rap artist was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He received his diploma from Humboldt High School in Saint Paul. He was a star on the basketball court starting point guard as a freshman on the varsity team for his high school.
Damice, D-Sota, Johnson picked up the mic at the age of 7 watching and observing his older brother Quan-Dada with his music. His Big Brother was the man at producing and writing. But Damice, beginnning so young, started to come up in the game after his brother. His first take off was at Rondo Days in 1998 when he got to spit his first 16 bars that made the crowd go crazy. He was nothing but 14 years old.The year 2000 came around and Damice joined a label called Gorilla Beatz and did a whole album. After that no songs, all of his money down the drain that went to studio time. All D-Sota ever heard through the time he was with the label was I wanna be your manager. I can get you shows. We can travel, youre a hot artist. But all that time depending on someone else was a waste of his time. Next thing you know D-Sotas music has been jacked. D-Sota is a strong, talented artist that is hungry for that cheese.Year 2004 he was back in the recording studio working on his own album. D-Sota started his own record label called Muggface Productions. The album was based off his life so he called it Struggle. The album has 17 tracks that are hot and he produced his whole album with two features on it. The album release party for Struggle was October 19th 2005 at Club Euphoria in downtown Minneapolis. It was 12 artists that opened up for him at his album release party. It was hot! The year 2006 baby was a good year with me. Ryan from SKYHIGH STUDIO'S shot 2 video's for his 2nd album that drop's this summer and he shot a interview about his opinion on the rap game. But at the same time D-sota lost alot of close people to him that kept him out of the studio for a little bit. Basically it was a huge down fall, He hit rock bottom by living and learning what life is about as you get older and the changes you have to face so start young. D-sota dropped 2 mixtapes in 2006. Called THE SPECIAL GIFT MIXTAPE AND TERROR TRACKS. Selling alot of cd's out the trunk of his car. Also D-sota have been working on his 2nd album called HOOD GRAMMER! That drops WINTER of 2007. Trust me you don't want to miss out on this album. The year 2007 D-sota has way bigger and better plans to keep his goals and dreams alive.
