Growing up in a society where the musicbusiness, especially the metalscene, was becoming more and more about being as agressive as possible instead of being talented musicians, Unaffected wanted from day one to bring back the 80’s metalscene to the world.
The band was formed by singer Tony Classon and guitarist Simon Hagberg in late 2004/early 2005 in small town Kumla, in Sweden. They founded eachother on swedish music-comunitysite jamma.nu (now jamma.se) through an add. The two 15 year old boys knew that they couldn’t take on the task alone, so they hooked up with bassist David Tapojärvi and drummer Magnus Larsson. In summer 2005, Unaffected entered the stage for the first time, playing a set containing two Metallicasongs. After they’re second gig, bassplayer David decided to quit the band. While looking for a new bassplayer, they decided they needed a second guitarplayer. A short period of time had passed when they found guitarist Joel Björkstrand to take on the role of lead-guitar. After auditioning a few bassplayers, without progress, they decided to keep on playing gigs.
In late 2006, guitarist Joel Björkstrand quited the band. It was at this point singer Tony picked up the guitar to both play and sing.
In february 2007, they entered Studio 7 in Orebro to start recording their debut-demo; The Line of Destruction, containgin two songs: the titletrack and Retaliation. Since they didn’t have a bassplayer, Simon Hagberg recorded the bass.
They are now working harder than ever finding a bassplayer and harder than ever to bring back the 80’s metalscene.
