I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

Sometimes I feel there is a conflict between who I am and what I do. It's the conflict between being low brow and wanting to be high brow. I'm a professional painter with eight years experience exhibiting my work. I have shown in Colorado, Texas, and Arizona. But I also actively pursue mindless, childish endeavors to satisfy my own comic sensibilities. That's the struggle I initially had when I put up this MySpace page: is it for business or is it for fun? Lately I've come to realize that both need to coexist. I can post my artwork right beside a blog that illustrates odd ball song lyrics. So, enjoy your visit and please remember to click on my pictures to view my current series entitled The Thread Paintings. This work combines my interest in both the aggressive, painterly style of Abstract Expressionism and the rigid, graphic nature of design. And check out the blogs to discover my ongoing contradiction.

From Russia with Love

Remember the Soviet Union? That's a question a series of movies I've watched recently had me asking. I don't really think about Russia much these days, much less the former Soviet empire. When I was a...

Gotta Get Back in Time...

As the year 2015 rapidly approaches, my thoughts always turn to a little movie called Back the Future 2. Basically, the writers made the rather ridiculous leap of faith that our lives would be so visi...

Are You Sure Youre Racist? Youre Probably Confused.

I have a friend whose coworker was accused of racism because he quoted a line from Blazing Saddles. Actually, he misquoted it. It was something to the tune of, "Get the ni**er!"--a line curiously abse...

In the Shadow of Greatness (Minor Characters)

One thing I've always appreciated about movies from the Coen Brothers, Quentin Tarantino, and even John Hughes, is the use of minor characters. These are characters that are onscreen for maybe one or ...

In the Shadow of Greatness (Plotline)

This next scene essentially outlines the plot of the screenplay. The principle characters all have a chance to interact, divulging their motives for the experimental film project. It's a little long f...

Whats With Wives?!

So, I'm watching the John Carpenter alien in the Arctic classic, The Thing, and my wife says, "This is the worst movie ever." Truth be told, it's not a film for everyone, particularly dames. It's insa...

In the Shadow of Greatness (Opening)

A short time ago, I posted a scene from a screenplay I had written, In the Shadow of Greatness. I decided it would be interesting to keep posting individual scenes & then, inevitably, get a r...
