I hold it down like a fat kid on the teeter totter

About Me

I have space. I share my real space with two beautiful mutt-dogs that do nothing but love and drool and shed (all right, only one of them really sheds but I don't want to pick on him too much since he's a bit sensitive). I share work space with a variety of incredibly creative people who give me jobs like explaining poo and wastewater treatment to 6-year-olds and designing giant planes out of foam. I share life space with more friends than I can handle and family that is constantly astounding me with how cool they are.

Sometimes I serve refreshments.

I also travel as much as possible, and just got back from here:

My Interests

Music, art, life. Everything associated with music, dance, art, culture, and life. And I like animals too. And the outdoors. And I go to church lots. And watch a bunch of movies whenever I can. But that's probably included under "art" so scratch that. Shoes. I like shoes.

I'd like to meet:

Steve Martin.Steven Colbert.Steve Carrell.Really, it seems that I've created a theme but it is completely coincidental. I have absolutely no interest in meeting Steve Guttenberg, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, or Steven Baldwin. Though now that I think about it, I'd also like to meet Steve Buscemi and Steven King, and I think Stephen Root is hilarious. Crap.

Music:

Playing, performing, listening to. Everything but country (and western - I don't discriminate).

Movies:

I have noticed lately that I own a disproportionate number of comedies. I am okay with that. I enjoy the occasional kung-fu, drama, and the very occasional and usually watched-from-under-the-seat horror.

Television:

I watch trash TV about once every couple of weeks. The rest of the time my TV is a plant stand.

Books:

I am a book whore. If it has words, I will read it.

Heroes:

We don't need another hero.

My Blog

Step back to move forward

I like to pretend that things haven't been hard, but every now and then reality slaps me in the face and says "yes, that happened". Of course there are people who have it harder and I do my best to he...

Weekend wisdom

Things I learned when camping via motorcycle with my Dad last weekend: 1. Sitting on the ground is apparently only fun if you're under 40. 2. High altitudes mess up weather forecasts. When it say...

vrrrrrrrroooom

Now that I've been riding almost daily (when lack of rain and non-freezing temperatures grace us with their welcome presence) and getting more comfortable with all the myriad buttons and levers, I'm a...

Been a lil’ while

What are three emotions you are feeling right now?*A bit art snobby (the coffeehouse I’m at has some very dated abstract art and lighting pendants)*Guilty about being snobby (what if 1987 was th...
