The Crazy 88s

About Me

Mixing 50's & 60's vintage rock n roll tunes with 40's swing, jazz, blues and a rockin selection of original numbers, The Crazy 88's make music to listen, laugh, dance and drink beer to. From Beer Parlour Rockabilly to Lounge Room Jazz, from Summertime to Stray Cat Strut, this is live music as it should be; groovin', rockin', and a lot of laughs.
The Crazy 88's were formed in June 2007 and are named after Quention Tarantino's lively and impeccably dressed Tokyo gangsters in his classic movie Kill Bill, the name also alludes to the musical antics of our manic pianist on his 88 keyed instrument!!
So come on and meet The Crazy 88s
On drum sits the legendary Dave T. Kupp. Dave is in charge of BPM and keeps time like an atomic watch. Formerly with Rock n Roll superstars Dynamite, DTK is the genuine rock n roll article - it says so on the label!
On Doghouse Bass and vocals "Mad Dog" Chris Willis is the dynamo of the band. His energy levels are relentless, and he's just as likely to be found kicking out his killer bass sound on top of a table or on the dance floor, as on the stage. A natural born showman, a good time is guaranteed at an 88's gig!
Just as crazy, on piano sits Krzys. Krzys is the baby of the band still in his 20's, although his repertoire and improvisational skills are those of a much older player. Krzys has played all over Europe in many different outfits, but gets his kicks with the Crazy 88's these days, he's a rockin' sensation!
On tenor sax is none other than long tall Tony. A recent and very welcome addition to the Crazy 88's, Tony is a great saxophonist and he's really into the swinging groove of the Crazy 88's. You can't miss him, he's the tall guy wearing shades!!
Guitar man Al K. Seltzer and his vintage orange Gretsch guitar complete the rockin' line up singing songs about trains, planes, boats, cars, girls, womanisin', gamblin', and boozin'. Too young to remember and old enough to know better, Al K reckons that he and the band are a bunch of fine gone daddies!
