About Me

My name is Ingrid and I own McCue's Mercantile, a small home based giftware and home decor shop.

About my son Brendan My oldest son, Brendan has a form of high-functioning autism called Asperger's Syndrome. He was diagnosed when he was 5 years old, which is quite old for a diagnosis of this type. He's a really wonderful kid and if you met him, you may not notice his issues thank goodness. Here's a little more information about Autism from VH1."Rock Autism" on VH1 Classic PSA

I Love Beading
I love to bead! I enjoy learning about all types of beading but my LOVE is wire wrapping. I kind of go into these stretches where I may bead every day for weeks and then won't touch it for a while. I guess it's just my personality but I LOVE to bead! I'm hoping to get some of my products onto the website and ebay soon.
Do you sell jewelry? Join Your Jewelry 4 Profit I opened this group but haven't worked on it. I'd love to be able to make it into a cool place to bead, swaps and more!

My Interests

I love making jewelry! I especially love semi-precious beaded jewelry. Reading - yeah I know, pretty boring but I dig reading everything from non-fiction to way out there stuff...you tell me about a good book and I'm on it. Doing stuff with my family. And I love checking out new stuff for the shop. There's nothing like finding something cool that you just can't find everywhere. Here's some pictures of my jewelry - if it doesn't work just go and look at it on the pictures section. There are a few there :)

I'd like to meet:

I'd really like to meet someone who didn't have a dime to their name growing up and turned their lives around. Not someone who did it with their family's money or someone who grew up in a middle class neighborhood, I'm talking about someone who didn't have two dimes to rub together - ever - until they broke out of that kind of life. You hear about it every day, but do you ever meet that kind of person? I don't but I'd love to!

Music:

Country, Classic Rock, Show Tunes, whatever I'm in the mood to listen to. If you are at the shop you'll probably hear easy going music but not easy listening either lol.

Movies:

Finding Nemo (can you tell I have kids) Happy Feet - how cute is that movie? I haven't seen an adult movie in years. I'm hoping to change that soon though.

Television:

Grey's Anatomy, ER, Ghost Whisperer - anything creepy!

Books:

Whatever catches my eye at the time. I just read a really awesome book from Nora Roberts.

Heroes:

My children! Brendan has to overcome so many obstacles and with everything that happens, he does. I'm so proud of him! Aaren is just an awesome toddler, what else can a mom say??
