Profile GeneratorTransplanting to Denver from her hometown of Dallas, TX in the spring of 2002, Elana brought with her years of expertise as a professional singer/songwriter. As a teenager she taught herself drums and acoustic guitar. Many strums later she released her distinctive Denver debut CD "One of Those Days" in May 2005, which warranted an excellent review in the Westword by Michael Roberts. She was since invited to perform at the 2005 & 2007 CHUN's Peoples's Fair, earned 2 special spots on 99.5 The Mountain's "Homegrown Hour", and was selected to showcase at 2005's Durango Songwriter's EXPO - her 1st year ever to attend! Her 2005-2006 band "Elana Rogers & The Reason" played stellar venues such as the Gothic Theatre, Soiled Dove, Herman's Hideaway, The Toad Tavern, The Walnut room and more! The successful band competed their way to the TOP 3 in the Toad Tavern's "Get a Leg Up" battle of the bands!
Elana's new CD, released October 2008, is titled "Someone Like You" and hosts a cast of compelling new originals. This diverse CD complation contains 9 originals and 1 cover spreading over a wide range of musical styles and influences, similar to: Allman Brothers, Queen, OURS, Motown, Steve Miller, Sinead O'Connor and Abra Moore. Stay tuned for its availability on CD Baby!
While performing live, she'll capture you with her smokey wide-range vocals, articulate songwriting style, love & infatuation for singing and playing live, and her unique Americana Rock-style genre. She combines a mixture of tugging originals and her adaptation of covers - making them all her own. To this day Elana continues to explore the art and passion of songwriting.

Toad Tavern - "GET A LEG UP" BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2006 - LITTLETON, COLORADO:
Elana Rogers & The Reason - PLAYED 02/16/06
"Elana came ready to battle it out. With an exuberant crowd and a high-end performance, Elana Rogers the Reason brought the house down. Nothing against the other bands mind you. Elana was able to bring a winning combination of stage presence, rockin' tunes and a stellar performance edging it out over very stiff competition".
"Solid sound, lots of enthusiasm and talent. Best crowd response I've seen since this began. Good vocals, great guitar solos. Overall: Very entertaining. THE WINNER: Elana Rogers and the Reason" - Pool Cleaners (judges at "Get a Leg Up")
"It wasn't enough that I could not take my eyes off her when she walked on stage. She then yanked at my heart with her songs and music! Elana had me and everyone else in the club by the ears." - Johnnie Good of Good Productions
The first time I heard Elana, she made me cry. Raw emotionpowerful
- Tammi Clancy Manager of Summer Hartbauer
"When on that stage a beauty radiates from Elana that transcends the physical realm. There's joy, passion, and a sense you are one with Elana. And there is talent. Plenty of it. - Mark Stout / WhatsDoingInDenver.com

"Considering the mob of generic singer-songwriters currently operating in these parts, a performer can stand out only if she or he has something to offer beyond an excess of sensitivity. Fortunately, Rogers does. Her voice is flavored by a Dallas upbringing, and that hint of twang, along with a pleasantly sassy musical personality, boosts her Denver debut.
Two of the six tracks here are covers, yet the unusual arrangements applied to the Verve's "Drugs Don't Work" and Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes" prevent these cautious choices from proving fatal. Besides, the title cut, the jaunty "Five & Dime" and "Texas Teardrops" demonstrate that she won't need to use the familiar-material crutch much longer. The ditties on One of Those Days, to be introduced at a Thursday, May 12, CD-release party at Cricket on the Hill, are a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll, and a lot more distinctive than what many local tunesmiths are strumming these days."
