TWISTED IN STORES NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About Me

For my readers…I believe that life is an open book, and there are a few ways to approach it. There are those who will read all about it, scouring the pages hungry for knowledge and thirsty for drama. There are those who write the books. They are the interpreters, the poets, the painters of words. And then there are those who are written about. The doers, the heroes, the ones who impact history. Life is an open book with many characters, many stories, a broad range of emotions and different genres. Some people are walking romance novels. Others are mysteries. We’ll encounter relationships that are horror stories. Often we are left in suspense. Each day is a clean page, and each day brings some clear light, and hope for a happy ending. It is an honor to depict for you in words the things that I have seen and heard. Thank you for reading.Visit www.tracy-brown.com for more.

My Interests

Music:

Who said the streets don’t love nobody? Black is the novel that shatters the myth. Kaia didn’t choose the streets. The streets chose her. Tossed from a broken home, Kaia is forced to learn the hard way just how grimy street life can be.Shedding her innocence, Kaia, overnight it seems, goes from being an often overlooked, stepped upon and crushed little girl, to a woman. She endures all of the drama that is thrown her way, sometimes catching it and sometimes being knocked flat on her ass. To aid in softening the blow is Aaron. Even street fairy tales have a Prince. Experiencing seclusion and imprisonment while locked down in street dreams and the illusion called love, is Aaron a Savior or Saint? With enemies in disguise, Kaia fights for survival and freedom, but to survive the streets could mean suffocating the freedom of her mind. Like a captured black butterfly, Kaia struggles to emerge and triumph, but victory ain’t always sweet, as a matter of fact, sometimes it’s bitter to the end.

Movies:

Dime Piece introduces the world to Celeste Styles, a woman who loves a man she really shouldn’t. She’s convinced herself that it’s acceptable to love someone else’s husband if his wife doesn’t have the sense to love him right. Raheem “Rah-lo” Henderson is the man she loves. He helps her realize her dream, ownership of her own hair salon, Dime Piece. Despite the opulent home, nice car and constant cash, she’s dissatisfied. Often left lonely as Rah-lo’s ‘other woman’, Celeste spends time with Ishmael Wright, her lover’s best friend. Sparks soon fly and their chemistry is unmistakable. But Celeste is disturbed by Ishmael’s playboy lifestyle. In the end, when she’s forced to face the possibility of losing everything, will she also lose her dignity? Celeste must decide whether to go to the left with Rah-lo, or take a chance with Mr. Wright. When the smoke clears Celeste chooses to go with her heart.

Television:

Criminal Minded follows Lamin and Olivia Michaels. Their mother is sick in more ways than one. Yet she instills in them a hustler’s spirit. Lamin is strong and determined, and lovely Olivia won’t take ‘no’ for an answer. This serves them well when they venture into unknown territory, from the streets to the red carpet. They have each other’s back every step along the way. With a grandmother who keeps the family grounded with prayer, they manage to withstand the surprising twists life often brings. Lamin meets and falls in love with Laila ‘Lucky’ Matthews, a young woman who is by his side as he rises from street soldier to power mover. Without question, Lamin has found the total package. Lucky is smart, beautiful, faithful and trustworthy. And she genuinely loves Lamin. But when he betrays her, Lucky has the strength to walk away. The question is can she stay away?

Books:

Brown's epic (after Criminal Minded) explores New York's ghettoes of the 1980s and '90s, following two characters caught up in the crack epidemic. Brooklynite Jada turns to the drug to numb the pain caused by an abusive stepfather and helpless mother. Her transformation from feisty teenager into crackhead is rapid and explicit, and Brown spares no wretched detail of Jada's descent. Meanwhile, on Staten Island, Born is growing from the impressionable son of a legendary "Original Gangster" into a hardcore hustler in his own right, fueled in part by the hurt over his father's weakness for the rock. When Born and a newly clean Jada cross paths as young adults, their common survivor spirit sparks a fairy tale love, and for a time, they live the blinged-out high life together. But one careless snort of coke at a party sends Jada spiraling again, and Born shuns her. It's not long before strung-out Jada hits bottom. Jada and Born reunite years later after escaping the drug world,as the lessons learned pile up. As ugly as their actions can be, Brown's characters are sympathetically drawn, and the Goodfellas-like take on the gangster life is eye-opening.

Heroes:

Celeste Styles is starting over. After losing her cherished salon in a suspicious fire, she has finally left her adulterous relationship and her drama-filled life in Brooklyn for the peace and tranquility of Atlanta, Georgia. But when Rah-Lo heads down south after deciding to leave his wife Asia, Celeste is floored and isn't quite sure if she wants to rekindle their affair. Meanwhile, Asia is hell bent on revenge. Vowing not to let Celeste get away with her man that easily, she, too, heads to Atlanta. But just on her heels is Ishmael Wright, ready to save the day and to warn his best friend Rah-Lo about his vengeful wife. Though Ishmael also has something else up his sleeve. Secret betrayals are exposed, bitter rivalries explode, love is lost and found. Life will never be the same on the streets of "Hotlanta" in Tracy Brown's epic new urban drama.TWISTED, the sequel to Dime Piece in stores NOW!!!WHITE LINES in stores now!!!
