About Me

AOL IM: CaptainSemantics
That addictive little thing we call LiveJournal
First, I should tell you I'm a Leo that was born during the year of the Rooster. So to say that I'm full of myself and self-centered/self-concious is an understatement. I have red hair, and it's long. (My lion's mane.)
I am practically married to one of the most wonderful people in the world. If the state of Georgia allowed it, we would probably be planning a wonderful, low-key wedding with plenty of booze. (For me, Josh is such a lightweight.) We already have rings. There's a picture in my LiveJournal, scroll up for the link.
A lot of my life is now consumed by Josh, our Siberian Husky named Tonka, and trying to balance multiple part-time jobs. As often as possible, I like to go out and see a show, usually to support a friend or a favorite theatre. Unfortunately, I work a lot of nights, so this doesn't always happen.
I'm thinking about trying out acting for a little while, just to see if I can get a few roles. It's been a few years since I've been on stage, but the bug is biting away at me.
I'm anal-retentive about certain things. I can't stand an open cabinet door or an open drawer. Josh thinks it's funny right before we go to sleep to ask me if all the drawers are closed, thus sending me on an expedition just to make sure.
I live a fast-paced life, but find myself complaining about how fast life is going. I want to have my cake and eat it, too. I demand a lot from life. I demand even more from my friends. I demand the most from my partner, and he always passes with flying colors. I strive for perfection, knowing it's a lesson in futility.
I believe that world peace could be achieved with a few more woman leaders. I believe that we can end world hunger and poverty. I believe in the power of the people. And I think there should be more rockin' in the free world.
I can't sing or play a musical instrument.
And I want to be a rock star. Like Bono.

Television:

I don't really watch much T.V., as Josh and I don't have cable. But I'm a fan of House M.D., and a new fan of Ugly Betty. And of course, Battlestar Galactica, my favorite T.V. show on the air.

Books:

Some good scripts:

"I Am My Own Wife," Doug Wright
"Corpus Christi," Terrence McNally
"Look Back in Anger," John Osborne

I tend to lean towards political non-fiction, but open to anything.
