TWAN'S HOOD SOUL
In an industry in which young powerfully voiced solo artist are basically extinct, the music world has been blessed with a rare commodity. ANTAWAN ROSS who just goes by TWAN, has a style all his on and also. Influenced by the greats and often compared to that of Teddy Pendergrass, Gerald Levert , Johnny Gill, and most recently Anthony Hamilton. This young man truly possesses something most singers of today do not, and thats TRUE SOUL! TWAN, began his passion to sing and entertain at his grandfathers St. Louis church at the age of four. From the church stage, to the stages of many talent shows. By the age of 16, he blossomed, and emerged as an electrifying R&B solo artists. He is now working on his new soulful album entitled, SOUL SEARCHING. On the upcoming album, all the songs are written, and performed by this unique artists. TWAN has shared the stage with national recording artist such as, KCi & JoJo, SILK, Dave Hollister, KEM, Enchantment, Sylenna Johnson, Anthony Hamilton, Javier, and Calvin Richardson. He has also made cameo appearances in the hit gospel plays Shakin The Devil Off and Big Tyme. As an American Idol contestant, TWAN was compared to Sam Cooke. He has made guest appearances on many of St. Louis television shows, such as Music Central Videos, The KTVI Morning Show, The Mark Clark Show, Show Me St. Louis, Harrahs Big Break, and the hit radio show, St. Louis Love. TWAN started his own production company, BOODA QUAN PRODUCTIONS, and soon began writing and producing for many local acts. TWAN has performed with many of St. Louiss best known artists, such as TIROAH, COCO SOUL, THA NUTCASE, COUL TRAIN, and L.L.C., to name a few. Darryl EASY Eason, program director at Majic 104.9, and host of The Quiet Storm, stated that This young mans vocal ability is strictly amazing. After performing for comedian Rickey Smiley in Birmingham, Alabama. Smiley stated, Not since Anthony Hamiltons show have I seen a stage performance filled with so much energy, passion, and soul. Comedian Jesse Taylor said it best when he stated, Man you got it, youre HOT! Peter Foggy, producer for Charter Communication, said that Twans live performance at the Ambassador in St. Louis, was one of the best live performances he has seen, and that he should record a live album.
