James M. Donaldson was born In Madison, WI. From a early age JD was in to music . He was a chior member in the church , this led him to his musical back ground.
He spent a lot of time listen to music, and going to clubs at a young age. His first encounter with Dee Jaying, came from a friend name Tim spinin shcommer, who was a local DJ. He learned some of his skills from Tim. JD moved on to doing his own gigs, starting as a wedding DJ, and then moving on to doing mixes for radio. His first radio gig was W.O.R.T. 89.9 in Madison WI. Later he moved on to be a club DJ, and do mixes for various radio stations.
In the fall of 1990 JD moved out to LA, to persued his dream of becoming a Producer .
Upon moving out to LA, JD secured a mix show for the radio station, MARS FM 103.1
At this point JD had crafted his skills, and met up with another producer . They did music under the production name Deep Swing. They have done many songs, such as Rise Up and Rescue Me on Yellow Orange records. Takin Me Higher On Four Play Records, and In The Music on their label Generate Music. As time moved on, so did JD. In 2004 he started his own label Big D Records. He has put out music on his label for a year. The first song on his label was called This Is Your The Straight Up E.P. The Love E.P. and The Inspiration E. P. Also out now on Big D Records Tony Jones Why We Try JD has done music under different production names, such as Inner Mind Prod, BROTHA FUNK, and JD Productions.
