CD baby® desription: Born and raised on Staten Island, New York, Evan Teatum is a musician who grew up performing in a variety of musical situations and genres. Either as a member of a full blown a Rock 'n' Roll band or as a solo performer playing all the major venues of the time, Evan’s natural ability to add color to the musical landscape and paint harmonious portraits with his words and music has developed with time and now he brings a new, self produced Solo CD release, appropriately named "Portraits."This body of work is an acoustically rooted project that uses a variety of instruments to create an enjoyably unique sound and stylization. Like a palette of colors to an artist, the tunes evoke images and emotions in the minds eye, each track paints a melodious portrait. The flow of the tracks takes the listener on a journey thru good times and bad, the sequence of the material is natural and addictive.A multi faceted musician, Evan plays acoustic and electric guitar, keyboards and synthesizers, harmonica, Mandolin and Banjo, and his love for vocal Harmonies is evident in this latest release. Singing Vocal harmony with long time friends Lesley Ann Bowie and Ariel (Win Again) warm vocal layers are conjured up from some spiritual place. Evan cites Indigo Girls, Bob Dylan, Ritchie Havens, The Allman Bros Band, Neil Young, Peter Paul Mary, The Patti Smith Group, Pink Floyd, David Wilcox, Crosby Stills & Nash and James Taylor as his influences. His song writing style is as eclectic as the instruments he plays.Evan Teatum has recorded and performed with 2007 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Patti Smith and guitar great Lenny Kaye. He also has recorded and performed with Jazz Great and Beat Era legend, David Anram, as well as local favorites, such as, Shrubs, Ariel, and Moving Star. His passion for music is evident as he records and produces local musicians as the owner of the digital recording facility, Gung Ho Studio in Goshen NY.
