Since I was a kid music have been a big part of my life but I never started singing myself until I was about 14 years old when I passed the embarrassment stage and managed to start believe in my voice. Coming from a catholic family it was only naturally for me to start singing in the church choir that my dad use to be a part of as well. This lead on to an interest of learning how to play the guitar and writing my own songs. It worked out pretty well for a while at least for attention from girls I mean who doesn’t like a typical teenage boy who sings and plays the guitar. BUT only 2 years later when the R&B music started to grow in Norway the girls lost interested in the “guitar guy†(only works when you are 14 really) so I had to move along with it. Anyways girls or not I discovered my biggest passion in life: R&B/soul music. This was about when I was 18 years old and moved to a town called Stavanger where faith lead me to become friends with people like Tore Pang, Audiofil, Mikki, Carl Martin and Shameer who helped for inspiration as well as learning new skills within music.Audiofil and I started to work closely together by playing around with some beats and songs, next thing we knew I had an EP to release. However it was a missing piece which happened to be Dnyal Andre who I found on myspace. I was drawn to his talent instantly and knew straight away that I wanted him on my EP. We started talking and after exchanging music and ideas we felt like we had known each other forever that really made us connect with our different styles of music. We made two songs together which was put on the EP that came out in the beginning of 2008. It was a proud moment to me as I had been working on it for such a long time and managed to pull it together without having a label on my back. It is important to not let go of your dreams and to believe in yourself as it is all possible as long as you don’t give up!Moreover one of the songs “You ain’t like that†from the EP even turned into a music video which I was blessed enough to get sponsored by Markedet Steen og Strøm(a big thank you to them). The video has had more views then I could imagine and has been shown on TV as well as the internet which created a buzz around in Haugesund. The friendship with Dnyal Andre started a whole new chapter as he wanted to start making more music with me and involve me in his projects to. He opened the doors for me as he introduced me to some well known artists/management in Norway such as YoungL, Bankrupt, Pumba, Dannyboy, Hustle & Flow and Hia Records which gave me a massive opportunity to cross paths with some good and much endowed producers.
Dnyal Andre and I decided to make an album which has now turned into a mixtape with R&B songs that will be released summer 2009 for free as a promo for both of us followed up by another music video from one of the tracks called “She got fashionâ€. It will only be a mixtape as we both are currently working on solo albums that will be released end of 2009/beginning of 2010. Both of our albums will contain songs featuring one and another. My aim is to get my music style to become a more Neo Soul type where I want to make music which has a John Legend, Music Soulchild and Dwele twang to it, but still make my own type of sound. There has been released a teaser on Radio Haugaland as well as the internet for my new album. Other than that I just want to say thank you to all of you including artists, producers, friends, family and fans for all of your support! I couldn’t have done it without you! Hope you enjoy it, so stay tuned with Lopez for moreI also wanna thank YOU for checking out my music, hope you enjoy it!
