I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

After two and a half years of trying to figure out what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, I finally took a huge leap, changed career directions, and moved to another state. So here I am, in Charleston, SC working as a biology teacher. It was a huge change, and scarry too. The last time I tried to strike out on my own I fell so hard on my face that I think I might still have bruises. I miss my family and friends back in Atlanta, but I'm happy here. I've been making friends, and finally feel like I've found a place where I belong. And I love my students. They're tough, and teaching is tough, but I'm loving it. It sounds like a cliche and corny to say, but I honestly think I've found my calling. Maybe I should have listened to my mom when I was in college and got a teaching degree. But then, if I'd chosen that path instead of the one that lead me here, then I wouldn't have met all the wonderful people that are in my life.
I'm pretty much a happy-go-lucky person, usually cheerful and bubbly. I am young at heart and can often be goofy. I love to laugh. Although I don't pull off dry humor, my family has a very dry sense of humor and I love it (which is probably why I like British humor). I am a hopeful (not hopeless) romantic.
Family and friends are very important to me, without them I wouldn't be where I am today. They've seen me through all the tough times in my life. My best friends have been my best friends since we were in 7th grade. Amazing that we've managed to stay so close all these years. Layout Provided By CodeMyLayout.com - Myspace Layouts

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

I guess I'd like to meet some old friends that I've lost touch with over the years, and maybe even to meet some new friends. As far as famous people go, I think I'd like to meet Helen Fielding (the author of Bridget Jones) and Clare Naylor, two hilarious writers whose characters I sadly seem to be able to relate to. Beethoven (yes, I know he's dead), just to see what the genius behind the music was like. And then there's Christian Bale. Brad Pitt and Collin Farrell just don't do if for me. Nope, for me it's been Christian Bale. :0) Your results:

Workin’ the street corner...

After school today, a few of us teachers were "invited" to go on a field trip to the CofC library.  So, since I was going to be representing Burke, I figured I'd look professional today and donne...

One in a Million

Lose your credit card out in public, there's a million to one chance that someone will actually turn it in.  Well, maybe not one in a million, but the chances are very slim, none the less.  ...
