Do you believe in being at the right place at the right time? If you don’t believe so don’t tell that to From Ritual to Romance it wasn’t just by chance that 3 of the band members were born into the same musical family and their best friend happened to have a bunch of musical equipment and after having the first audition with the drummer they were all set and ready to start writing and eventually play shows. Forming in the fall of 2004 and playing their first show in March of 2005 at a small venue, with a capacity filled crowd, with all locals, have since come quite a ways from their humble beginnings, but judging by their goals and aspirations they still have a lot of ground to trek. From day one FRTR still boasts their original line up and are a poised, well-rounded group of individuals set to handle any opportunity good or bad that comes their way. Their sound is best described as, "power screamo pop,” by JR of illasever.com. It’s a Silverstein, Senses Fail, Underoath type of mix that follows the sense of a pop structure and also use of unique songwriting approaches to spice it up and differentiate from plain and traditional methods. Their work ethic, goals, and love for music, has driven them and helped them improve on their songwriting and has also garnered them performances to play alongside bands such as Bad Religion, Yellowcard, Chiodos, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Head Automatica, and My American Heart, amongst other notable national acts. In February of 2006 they recorded their self-produced 7 song EP “The Innocent Cause of All The Trouble” at Love Juice Labs in Riverside, CA and was made available in August 2006. Since the availability of their tracks on their myspace in March of 2006 they have recorded over 100,000 plays and almost 60,000 views. Winner of the Ernie Ball Battle of the bands opening spot on the mainstage of the Rockstar Taste of Chaos 2007 in Fresno at the Selland Arena. From their first day of playing shows FRTR has played close to 100 shows building a strong local fan base, having their songs on rotation, being requested and played on 106.1 KRAB radio, and have kept a constant progression to present day. Through heavy promotion, word of mouth, internet flyers, forming a street team, and working hard to get their name out their, FRTR has become one of the premier bands in Bakersfield, CA. “ These FRTR dudes have stuck together and have a massive core audience to show for their efforts.” JR of illasever.com. FRTR is well-known throughout their area for their heartfelt, intense, live shows. “Every time I ask someone what they think of FRTR they rave to me about how awesome they are live. I’m stoked I finally got to see and hear for myself what everyone has been talking about. Go see this band live I promise you will not be disappointed I wasn’t.” JR of illasever.com
