About Me

I've sung my whole life, or as far back as I can remember. I started singing in the Angelic Choir at Mt. Calvary 2nd Baptist Church, when I was 4 or 5. I sang with them for about 2-3 years until I was moved up into the Youth Choir. What a privilege!! Chea!! LOL. Never sang 4real real. Wasn't passionate or anything. I just liked to sing. Many of my church members, including my family, switched churches when I was about 8, so we had to start the Youth Choir from scratch. I didn't want to sing really. Never sang out. Nothing!! Because I had the older guys singing to cover me up. But once I was 13, they moved on, and I had to step up. Which I did. I started "trying" to sing. Never was that good, newayz. But that helped me out a little bit. It was my freshmen year, and my grandmother and I were very close. I was at her house one day, and she handed me a clipping from the newspaper. It was about this Omega Psi Phi Talent Search in my town. She was like, "Brandon, I think you should do this." I was like, "Okay!" I didn't really want to do it in the first place. But she insisted. I still wasn't going to do it. But she didn't know that. That very week, she died. I was with her that whole day. Through her struggle. Just me and her. Me not being able to do anything because I was terribly ill. It hurt me real bad. At her funeral, I sang "One Sweet Day" by Boyz II Men and Mariah Carey. That song will never have the same meaning. The talent show was the weekend of the funeral. The only reason why I did it, was because my grandmother asked me to. I put my everything into winning the talent show. I didn't win. But I knew my grandmother was proud of me. Like the saying says, "When one door closes, another is opened..." From then, I've been singing every chance I get. I've become sooooooooo passionate about my music. So, I think, that for me to just be starting that I'm doing pretty well. I hope you guys can understand where I'm coming from, and except my music for what it is, not what it sounds like. Thanks for stopping by. Come back whenever to see what else is going on in my this challenging journey through music. In Loving Memory of Ruby J. Talbert 5/16/34 ~ 2/20/03

Sounds Like: I really just wanna be me, but I've heard Ne-Yo, Omarion (I don't think so), Beyonce's little brother (funny), John Legend & Usher mixed. But Kierra "Kiki" Sheard is who I run after. So when I do actually do runs, they resemble hers sometimes.
