I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm a Brophy and LMU alumni and I would like to get in touch with people from my past. I'm big into computer gaming and watching TV (:P). HBO is my favorite channel, although I've never seen an episode of the sopranos *boggle*. I also like to play paintball (woot!), dabble in console gaming, and love working on or around my house. I've a bunch of other hobbies but those are the main ones (is watching TV a hobby?)

Oh yeah, and I'm a programmer incase you wonder what I do for a living. I've been doing pretty much the same thing since graduating from university, and so far it's been working out great. If you can, I highly suggest a job as a programmer as it kicks butt.

My Interests

computers, games, programming, game programming, paintball, music, movies, TV, HBO (it's not TV), comedy, comics, animation, cartooning, online comics, electronics, building stuff out of things, ceramics, art (especially ceramic art), painting, drawing, assembling things that need assembly :P, taking apart things that probably don't need disassembly, I wish I knew how to play guitar (teach me?)

I'd like to meet:

People from my past that I've lost touch with. So far it's worked out great! Anyway, if you knew me in the past go head and let me know you are out there!

Also if people of similar interests would like to chat or something, that would be cool too.

Music:

I like all "good" music, though I decide what is good. Main favorites are alternative and rock though I've got a collection that includes pretty much every genre.

Movies:

I used to like Starwars but now I don't. Current favorite movie is: Sin City. Other good ones: When Harry Met Sally, The Untouchables, Predator, All even numbered Star Trek movies, Aliens (the others were OK I guess), Terminator series (all are pretty much good IMO), Spiderman, Napleon Dynamite, The Shawshank Redemption, Akira, Ninja Scroll, Batman Begins, Equilibrium, The Matrix (part 1), The Princess Bride, Most of Bill Murrays movies (Lost in Translation, Groundhog Day, Steve Zissou, and Rushmore are my favorites), All Wes Anderson movies so far. I like more, but those are the ones I believe I like the most and can watch the most.

Television:

Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, Venture Brothers, Most HBO shows (Deadwood especially), paintball events on TV (thank you WGN and ESPN2!), The Office (both on BBC and NBC), My Name's Earl, 24, Monk, Battlestar Galactica, Fire fly, Babylon 5, Most Star Trek shows, basically anything that takes place in the future for some bizarre reason (not Dr Who though!).

Books:

Chuck Rosenthal novels specifically the Loop's Progress series, Hyperion novels, William Gibson novels, Some Richard K. Morgan novels, All Chuck Palahniuk novels, Ender's Game, Watership Down, The Long Walk, Some Frank Herbert, The Complete Bolo, some John Varley, some Isaac Asimov, The Princess Bride, All Kurt Vonnegut, some Robert Heinlein, Red Mars, Green Mars, Blue Mars, Douglas Adams, Childhoods End

Heroes:

Mark Philips. No you probably don't know him, but I wish you had, and now it's too late.

Upgrade (downgrade?)

Last year I tipped the scales at around 190, very sad.  So, this year I decided to exercise more. You see, I've had this exercise bike sitting in my living room for the last two years gathering ...

Ok, so the story behind the picture from 8/27/2006 posted by Dan...We (the programmers) at my work had a tub full of Halloween candy on our lunch table.  Well after a month or so the "good" candy...

Info about Bud the Cat

Bud was a pet store cat that's been passed around. I'm his third (I think) owner and he's a little feisty when exposed to loud noises. In early 2006 he mauled my lil sis (also the person who gave him ...

Info about George the Cat

George was a stray picked up by my lil sis and dumped on me. He's a little gimpy due to some paw injury from before I knew him. The vet said he didn't have a broken bone so maybe it's just the way he ...
