About Me

Located on the campus of Bowling Green State University, WBGU 88.1 FM has been broadcasting since 1947, making 2007 our 60th anniversary. WBGU is a non-commercial radio station that offers a variety of music. The station is comprised of college students and community members working as volunteers. The format is focused on independent, underground, and under-represented music, which includes Indie, Punk, Metal, Latin, Folk, Blues, Jazz, World, Hip-hop, Goth, Electronic, Industrial, Experimental, and Turntablism. Besides music, you can also tune in to hear news and weather updates, High School and College Sports, talk shows, and other public services. WBGU 88.1 FM operates yearlong, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with a broadcasting power of 1000 watts. In addition, all shows are broadcast over the Internet via the WBGU website located at www.wbgufm.com . This internet relay extends WBGU’s broadcast to listeners around the world.Oh yeah, we totally kick ass, too.
