Hannah Bristow

Solo artist Hannah Bristow has been collaborating with musicians Levi Szendro and Nico Bentley on an exciting new project. Moving into new territories with her writing, delivering a whole new set of original songs that swing from sweet to satirical in her songwriting. Now supported by management she is embarking gigs lined up for 2009 and 2010. She has stripped down her unique sound to reveal a totally raw set of Lo Fi songs. The intricate melodies are constantly uplifting,moving swiftly into catchy but innovative chorus's, accompanied by piano melodies she has written herself (played by Levi) that lean towards blues and folk, brought to life by Nico's memorable guitar licks and light percussion. The new sound showcases her soulful evocative vocals and lyrics which have been likened to Carole King with echoes of Feist, Joni Mitchell and Cat Power. She has defined this style over 10 years of writing, performing, recording, studio environments, session work and collaborating with numerous producers on all genres of music from rock, Jazz to house music. She has supported the likes of Keane and Martina Topley Bird on her journey and with her musical direction moving into much a more mature and meaningful sound that comes from the heart. She is concentrating on the songwriting and musicality which create dynamics in her set. This brings a performance of dark and light created by her powerfully evocative songs, with unique lyrics and vocal melodies.
