Most recently, the band has been headlining street festivals around NYC, delivering their raucous brand of blues rock to capacity crowds. The band has also produced a maxi-single comprised of three signature tracks, and will hit the studio in early 2008 to lay down a full length LP. Plans are already in the works for an extended tour of Europe and the Southern U.S. next summer (2008).
The band is fronted by Jen Holland, an extraordinary lead singer and recording artist whose vocals range from a delicate whisper to a razor sharp force. This multi-cultured beauty raised in New York's Lower East Side writes her own songs and performs them all with energy, soul and a dramatic stage presence.
Josh Keller is the band's lead guitar player and also serves as the main songwriter for the group. Josh began his career in NYC, but really honed his skills on the Philadelphia blues scene playing alongside former touring vets and local heroes. He has played in several different blues rock acts, including the SG Brothers/Richard Johnson band.
Loufee (also known as 'Stupid'- by his own choice!!) is the backing vocalist and 'hype-man' for the band. With an uncanny ability to win over a crowd, he introduces the band, hypes up the crowd, and fills in his trademark baritone vocals to bring each and every song to its peak.
Brian Elliott (bass) and Hari Ganglberger (drums) round out the rhythm section of the band. Most recently, Hari toured Germany and the Czech Republic as the drummer for PHISHBACHER, an instrumental Jazz Fusion trio. Brian spent several years on the road as bass player for both The Beat Daddy’s and The Midwest Band. The classic sound and God-like feel of this truly dynamic rhythm section gives The Brooklyn Blues an authenticity that sets this band apart from the rest.
If you want to see a great live band then catch the Brooklyn Blues!!! Their energetic set invites the audience to be a part of the fun, and it is downright impossible not to have a good time during one of their sets!!!!
