It's sad to say, but we have broken up. It's been an awesome year of shows, music, and friends but it has come to an end with everyone focusing on different projects. Kyle and Dylan have moved on to form a metal band called Fall of the Masses, and Lenny and Brittany have formed another punk band called The Mudslingers . We'd like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout our short-lived time as a band, and especially 36 Years for helping us make it as far as we did. We'd like to thank all the bands who played shows with us and everyone who came to those shows, and anyone who we forgot to thank already. Thanks
5/29/07-
Has it been a month already? We're just lazy I guess. Looks like we'll be starting to record for our album soon, but you can disregard this information because you know its false. What isn't false though is we'll be playing many shows this summer with all kinds of cool bands. We've also made some new songs which will be heard for the first time at the next show.
4/29/07-
Fun show last night, fun show last week, that is all.
4/15/07-
Rob has quit the band, so we will be a four piece from now on. We got invited out to Minnesota by Circa AM so we'll be playing out there multiple times this summer, and a small midwest tour might be done. We're also playing at the Rave next month and we've been invited by Punks Across America internet radio station to play at their Milwaukee tour stop. We're playing at Joe Won't go 2 next weeks so you better be there to help support the cause, and then the National Skatepark show is the weekend after. More shows will be announced as they are set up.
3/31/07-
That was an awesome show; thanks everyone who came and everyone who played it was awesome. We're gonna try and set up another show like this at the same place, we'll keep you posted. Boogie Time ended up opening, then The Berettas, The E-X's, Brutal Dildos, and finishing it up was 36 Years. The Cocksmokers and The Stilettos had to cancel but they'll definitely be at the next one. The video of the show will be posted up tomorrow or the month after; it'll be up as soon as it's edited.
3/26/07-
Somehow this didn't get updated for two weeks, what with the warm weather and skateboarding and all that, so here's whats going on right now. This Saturday, March 31, we're playing/hosting a basement show with 36 Years, The Cocksmokers, Brutal Dildos, The Stilettos, and The Berettas. Expect a video of that show to be uploaded during the first week of April. Then April 28 we'll be playing at National Skatepark with 36 Years, The Cocksmokers, and The STD's. There will probably be another show mid-April but there are no promises.
3/11/07-
Recorded two new songs today titled "Music About Music" and "Subject to Change." There's probably going to be a show at National Skatepark at the end of the month if the owner ever gives us a date. He said it's cool if we do it and we have 5 bands to play but we just need a date now. An album might actually come out before this summer produced by our local underground label Triple Negative Records. Expect a new recording or two next week.
2/25/07-
Normally news wouldn't be put up two days in a row, but we've gotten a lot done today. Jax is helping us set up some shows in Chicago and has been helping us find some shows in Wisconsin as well. Provided Terror has asked us to play a show with them which will probably be held in a hall in Milwaukee. Republicans on Welfare invited us to a show out in Milwaukee as well but we can't play it because we aren't over 18; but we will play a show with them sometime soon hopefully. We've gotten several more requests for a show in Kenosha, and we'll be at the Punk Picnic this September if not earlier for other shows. All around today has been a cool day, and to top it all off we got in excess of 30 friend requests. Thanks for the support everybody, the next update will be next week.
2/24/07-
Last nights battle of the bands was a big waste of time, just like we thought it would be. Thanks to the few kids who showed up to support us, sorry to all you guys who were turned away at the door for being to old (and not from KM), and no thanks to most of the Kettle Moraine kids for not knowing how to act at a show. Those are some of the most sheltered kids we've ever seen. You won't see us playing anymore battles or gay ass shit at teen centers; we'll stick with real shows from now on. The STD's did a really great job and are probably going to be playing in next months underground show if it happens, and Union Jack did an awesome job as well. We did pretty good too but nobody was around to see it. So the official ranking from the judges was first: Union Jack, second: The STD's, and third: The E-X's. So we got last, but it's all good because we weren't looking to place anyway; just playing it because we could.
2/11/07-
A live recording of our new song "Yohoho" is up now. We'll be playing that song as well as a couple more over at Kettle Moraine Highschool for their gay battle of the bands in which we can't mosh or swear. Come check it out and waste $6.00 at the door. Rob Luna is now back in the line up and will remain there this time. Another underground show is being planned in a friends basement and will be held in March if everything works out; we'll keep you posted. There's also a new picture up of us practicing.
2/4/07-
Today was spent wearing pajamas, playing grand theft auto, and recording music with the computer. A Minor Threat cover and a new recording of Internet are up now. We'll put up some better recordings again in two weeks hopefully. "We're just a Minor Threat"
1/28/07-
Good show last night thanks everyone who came out to help support Joe and thanks everyone who gave us props. We should have played a little faster so you guys could get into it more, but it was cool as hell during the Minor Threat cover both times when everyone got up there to do vocals. New recordings will be up next week probably. Anyone have a place to hold another underground show?
1/22/07-
Show this Saturday check out the shows section for more details. More new songs on the way. Rob Luna has been removed from the lineup for missing 4 practices in a row. That's all for now.
1/15/07-
We recorded a new live version of Simple Man, and a new never before heard song called AKCM. We also recorded our first two covers: Rise Above by Black Flag and Minor Threat by Minor Threat. New recordings will be posted later this week. If you have a spare basement lying around and want to host an underground show for us to play at we can get other bands and advertise and everything. Message us for details.
1/3/07-
Triple Negative has a computer system set up now for recording. All we need is a soundboard and we'll be up and running. Our album could be out as early as February. New recording(s) will be posted next week (possibly).
1/1/07-
We have started Triple Negative Records . Check it out, add it, hang out with it, whatever you want. Helping people out in a couple weeks.
12/12/06-
It's been awhile since we've last updated. We are still recording and still working on some new songs. We're sending demos out to record labels right now so hopefully we can get signed. As of right now we're gonna play at the World Zero show January 26 but that's a long ways off so there's no way to say its a sure thing (but it probably is). We're gonna try and get into KM's battle of the bands February and we're holding our own show at Kings in March hopefully. If it's not to much to ask could you put one of our banners somewhere? A bulletin, a message board, maybe even on your page? Thanks in advance for helping us get our name out there.
11/25/06-
It's November 25th out today. More recording for album tomorrow. Does anyone know of a good place to print CD case inserts and/or print labels on discs? If so message please. We're sending in a demo to KM to that February battle of the bands thing so if you go to KM and wanna see us live put in a good word to whoever runs that thing. Anyone know a legitimate record label we could sign with?
11/10/06-
The show went down tonight it was pretty fun. Our set was short but we got in the songs that we really wanted. Thanks everyone who showed up and supported us and we'll be sure to invite you to our next show.
10/29/06-
We recorded all the lead guitar stuff today and practiced without lyric sheets for the November 10th show. Yup
10/15/06-
Today we had an 8 hour practice and got all the drums tracked for the final album. A really big thanks goes out to Luke for dealing with us for so long and listening to all our dumb stories about glitches in video games and peachels. Next week we're going to try and get the guitars all recorded so its looking like the album will be done before the year fails. Theres also some talk of possibly playing KM's battle of the bands. No word yet; that's not coming up for another 3 or 4 months.
10/14/06-
It's been awhile, and not much is going on. We're still recording and we're still making up new songs. The only thing that's really happened is we're now playing a show at Alan's house on Novemeber 10th. It's not a genre specific show; its really just a local show where the more popular bands from Oconomowoc are going to play. As of now we're looking at a punk/acoustic/screamo/metal/techno show, but there will probably be some rap or something else thrown in there before all is said and done. Message us for directions and hope to see you there.
9/24/06-
Whole buckets of cool stuff are going on right now. We've got two shows in the works (dates pending) and several new songs; one of which is up right now called Unite to Fight. We also put up a new recording of One Mind Serves All (the one from the live video). Luke from Twelfth Productions came to our practice today and is coming again for the next month or two to help us record our album. More updates as things progress.
9/10/06-
Rob Luna is now the new second guitarist. At our first practice with him we recorded a new version of One Mind Serves All and the video is available for you to see a little farther down this page. We did gang vocals for the first time and Rob and Lenny think it sounds cool as hell; hopefully you do to. Expect more gang vocals in future recordings. Now when we have our first show you can yell along with us.
8/31/06-
Sad to say, but due to some personal issues between members of the band Ricky has been released from our lineup. He wasn't there long, but it was cool while it lasted. We&..39;re looking at another guitarist who was actually the co-founder of Blushkidoll; the band which was the roots of The E-X's. He quit the band two weeks after it started but hes back again and ready to play some cool music. If this works out expect some cool stuff coming out in the near future. But will it be cool enough? Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z
8/20/06-
The previously unreleased version of Dig a Hole has found a home on the new Identify EP. The rest of the EP tracks are now also recorded. You can hear three of them on this page, or go to www.the-exs-band.tk to hear all 5. The EP will be released in a couple days and it will probably cost like a dollar to get.
8/10/06-
Nothing much to say as of late. Check out www.the-exs-band.tk to see some new pictures. The band section there also has some new pictures too so check that out if you're bored as hell. If you don't have a banner up yet you're slackin' son. Identify EP still in the works. We're helping out some other bands with a warehouse show; but its still in the early stages. I wouldn't expect that show to happen for at least another month or two. In return for helping out with the setup we get to play, so that's probably gonna be our first show. We&..39;ll keep updating on that as progress is made. Until next time, voir le ya.
8/4/06-
We've got demos, patches, and stickers in Boardwurx in Delafield. Go there if you want any of that nonsense. Here's our
Vampire Freaks Profile for any of you who use that site.
8/3/06-
Identify EP in the works: our first album, Identify, won't be released soon because we're still trying to find the best way to record it, but there will be a promotional release in the form of the Identify EP. It'll probably be 5 or 6 songs. Some might be repeats from the Demo, but they will be new recordings with Ricky playing (the first demo came out before we had him on the second guitar). We're not repeating songs because we don't have enough; but we don't want you to hear the whole album across a couple EP's and than be bored with the real album because you've heard it all already. We have 13 songs for the real album, and we might add a few more when we record, but there are a solid 13 that we can put on the album for sure. What else should I say? How about: "oh, we're going somewhere, buddy." In response to this ignorant statement "you're band isn't going anywhere" by an anonymous person.
8/1/06-
The E-X's website is up and running. There's still a ton to add to it and it probably won't be complete for awhile, but here it is anyway. www.the-exs-band.tk .

7/31/06-
New recordings, new pictures, new equipment section, and patches and demos soon to be in currently unnamed stores; we're getting shit done now. Dylan was over at rockfest for a week so we missed a couple practices so now we're buckling down. Well, not quite buckling down because it's impossible for us to take anything seriously, but we're trying. We've also got up a new blog so check that out too, and the old one if you haven't yet. Look for more updates real soon.
7/26/06-
Due to unforseen circumstances we have about 150 demos packaged and ready to go. If you want one message us and meet with a member somewhere and you can have one for free. If you see Lenny at the skatepark he'll probably have some with him too so you can always ask there. Expect a new recording on the player next week.
7/20/06-
A new banner section is now installed. You can get the codes for the banners right under them so you can copy and paste them on your own profile. Thanks for supporting us if you do put one of our banners up. If you have a band put one of our banners on your page and we'll put one of yours on our page. It's kind of like a fan trade-off. Get everyone listening to everyone else and get your name out at the same time.
7/15/06-
Here's a picture of 200 of The E-X&..39;s live 6 track demos. Those are the ones going out to Rockfest and Ozzfest. Remember you can get a copy if you ask and can meet with a member person to person to recieve it.
..src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v509/akkaquill/200d
emos.jpg"..
Important Announcement: the song titles on the cases of the demos are correct. If you import the music into itunes some of the track names could be incorrect. Incorrect tags were put on some of the demos. Just make sure the track names on the computer match the ones on the demo case.
7/13/06-
Our live 6 track demo is going to Rockfest and Ozzfest. There's 100 copies going to each event so they're gonna be hard to come by, but if you really want one just contact a member of the band. Self promotion isn't enough for us though; we need you as our fans to tell anyone who will listen about our band. Give them our url (www.myspace.com/theexs) and we'll be very grateful. In other news, we have a stencil for spraypainting our logo on t-shirts, skateboards, cars, houses, dogs, etc; so if you want a shirt give Lenny a light colored one and he'll spray it for you. Right now there's grey, black, orange, red, and blue paint. We'll have the stencil with us at shows/events when we play so if you have anything else you want sprayed bring it with. In other other news the album is coming along nice. We have all the songs done except for one which is nearly complete and all the cover/disc art is complete,
so all that's left is to record and mass produce. You'll be able to get the album from members of the band or in Boardwurx Skateshop next to Blockbuster in Delafield. The album could also be in other stores in the area, but Boardwurx is the only for sure one at this time. So that's it for the update right now, thanks for reading this all and being a loyal fan.
7/09/06-
Ricky Charboneau is officially our second guitarist. We made like 5 new songs today. We've got a new top friends section and a scrolling news section. We have a little Purevolume banner linked to our Purevolume page. You can download some of our songs there. More random news later.
7/05/06-
We've got some little 2 inch by 4 inch stickers with our name and url and what not on them. They're pretty much for advertisement purposes and you'll probably see them at the skatepark and the schools and anywhere else we can think to stick them. If you want some just ask Lenny if you're hanging out with him and he'll give you a couple if hes got any on him. In other news there's a second guitarist in the works. He's reliable and knows how to play so be prepared to see him in the line up in the near future. This will push the album recording date back though because we'll need to redo all the songs with 2 guitarists in them. Watch for the album to come out hopefully by the end of the summer. This album will be out for sure sometime this year for all you fans who saw the old tentative release dates last April and May. This album will probably be self produced because we quit the label we were on for lack recording time. We're still friends with all those guys though and they helped us out a lot for the couple months we were with them, and we will possibly be working with them in the future when we get a little better. More updates soon.
6/29/06-
Some sort of garage show will be played in the near future. It's probably going to be free. We'll have demos there for free too. It'll end up being only about 45 minutes long because we're the only band that's going to playing (unless we find another local band that would wanna play). Check back for more updates in the next couple weeks regarding this show. We still have demos to give out. Contact us if you want one.
6/20/06-
We have about 25 more demos ready to go so if you want one you know who to contact. In other news, we're looking to play some kind of show during July or August. A place that will let us swear is best; otherwise we're gonna get kicked out in a second. If you know of any places that would want our kind of band to play give them our link (www.myspace.com/theexs) so they can check us out. If you know of anyone with a big-ass basement who would be willing to host an underground punk rock show tell them to get a couple other local bands together and we'll try to come and play. Message us about any opportunities you find. Also, don't limit your advertising to just potential concert hosts. We want to get the biggest fanbase possible so tell your friends, your family, your dog, and your neighbor's lawn. The more adds we get on here the better, so get out there and promote.
6/18/06-
A friend of ours set us up a Pure Volume page. Click Here to check that out. In other news, all of our demos got handed out at Warped Tour, and hopefully they weren't all thrown on the ground. We have a blog asking how you found out about our band so if you want you can check that out too. We're gonna have another pile of demos ready to give out in a couple days so get in touch with a member if you want one.
6/16/06-
Revamped the page. New colors and the new skull is up. I think it looks better, what do you think?
6/16/06-
We've got a live 6 track demo that was recorded all in one practice (so it ain't that great). There's gonna be 200 of those things going around the crowds at Warped Tour (sat june 17 in Milwaukee, WI), so they'll be hard to come by but not impossible to find. Around the Casualties crowd is where you're gonna see the most (if you see any at all). The week after Warped Tour we'll probably have some more demos in stock so if you want one get in touch with a member. We don't mail them or anything so you're gonna have to meet with a member person to person. More news on that later this week.
Bio
We've been around since January 2006. We used to be Blushkidoll, but when we kicked our bassist out we changed it to E-X. Turns out E-X was taken, so we're now The E-X's. We&..39;re a 5 piece band (usually) and we try to play a heavier style but we always end up with some kind of metal/punk cross, I guess they call it thrash. Hell if I know. We're lucky enough to have a lot of instruments including 8 guitars (2 of which are V's), 2 drumsets, 2 basses, a whole big pile of little amps ranging from 10 to 50 watts, a 400 watt half-stack, and 4 or 5 mics.
If you hate our music or anything about our band message us about it. We won't get pissed off or anything. It's good to have a large enemybase as well as a large fanbase. You don't want everyone to like what you play, but you also don&..39;t want everyone to hate it. You've gotta find a balance. Constructive critizism will help us become a better band overall. If you love our music don't hesitate to message us about that either. We love hearing from fans and its really cool for us to actually get support from people. We never expected to get this far, and the only way we're gonna get any farther is with your help as a dedicated fan.
