Jazz Iguanas

A computer can be programmed to play instrumental music, to work with a writer, or even to write music without any help.
Theoretically speaking, there are no limitations to the performance of a computer as a creator of sounds, unlike any other musical instruments. Apart from creating sounds, a computer can also be recognized as a writer itself: on the one hand, it can create musical fragments entirely based on random numbers, or on the other hand, it can cooperate with a human writer.
This cooperation between a computer, as an autonomous entity, and a human musician in the development of writing and interpreting of improvised musical fragments seems to be possible only in an ontology where the authenticity of what is human cannot be determined by psychological criteria.
To create an improvised fragment, it is only necessary to appeal to the autopoietic stability of the living beings that Maturana and Varela advocate. A machine might also present this autopoietic stability as in the schizoid android of Philip K. Dick's fiction. For Dick the human being is the only entity who's capable of determining his own goals.
And this is the fictional ontology that the Jazz Iguanas stand for.
