Guess who's a PRIVATE again!

I am here for Friends

About Me

..
MySpace.comI am a musician all the way to my soul. I have played guitar for six years now, and still learning new things every day. I don't read a whole hell of a lot, but I watch a ton of movies. I'm a movie buff. I also participate in acting as much as I possibly can but with me going into the Marines this has been put on hold for at least 6 years :) Hmm, let's see... what else to write to make myself seem more interesting... *thinking...*
Some of you may wonder why I chose the Marines, let me tell you simply, my brother was the one who inspired me to make this decision. After several doors in my life being closed within a short period of time and seeing the change my brother was going through in boot camp it became very apparent to me that this was a choice I ought to look into.
While in boot camp my brother was sent to MRP (Medical Rehab Platoon) twice for 6 weeks each time. This essentially doubled his time in boot camp, as 1/4 of HIS boot was for healing from pneumonia which he caught within the first 2 weeks of boot and another 1/4 was for healing 2 stress fractures (one in each leg) that he went through the ENTIRE crucible with. The base CO (Commanding Officer) granted Evan a special privilege that is EXTREMELY RARE... a 2 day freedom pass which allowed him 2 days of free time to spend with my mother. While she was down there she video taped everything. I was able to see the transformation of my brother from a 18 year old angry, cocky punk kid into a confident, self aware man.

After watching the video I almost immediately decided that this is something I should consider and the next day I was down at the Recruiter Sub-Station signing papers.
At first I was a little unsure but as the months progressed I grew to like more and more who I was becoming, physically and mentally, and realized for once in my life I had a destination and a plan. Now for at LEAST the next 9 years of my life I know what I am doing and where I am going. Believe me when I say that there isn't much more that can bring you more self assurance than having a plan for your life and executing it.
There is no doubt in my mind that I still have a LOT to learn and that I currently know nothing compared to what I have the ability to learn now. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this will change me for life and that I will ultimately come out a stronger and better person than I am now.
Any prayers, kind or encouraging thoughts are more than welcome, in fact I ask for them.
Check back daily for frequent updates and thank you once again for your support.

- CJ
