Tang Moat was a band formed in May 2004 by Germaine Appel and Randy Pike. A power-duo, they were into sluggish, power chord garage-carnage, all with a stripped down, minimalist approach. Genius.
They played a handful of shitty shows, and then two memorable gigs at the Luna Lounge, and the legendary CBGB's.They recorded a 6 song e.p. in October of 2004, but it never saw the light of day due to a halt in production that left the mixes sounding incomplete, or unpolished. The band broke up in early 2005. They're making some of the rarities and brilliance available here, so that you'll see what was.
They're promoting themselves as if they're still around as a band. Total vindication against all the naysayers who didn't appreciate what all of us had.Dig Germaine on drums, Randy on guitar. The chemistry is astounding, and the intensity is unmistakable. Take a walk with us now down memory-lane. Music still sucked, and Tang Moat is back from the dead in order to make things right. Fucking scary.
