Lunar Phaze is a Canadian born artist whose musical expression stems from a myriad of cultural, musical and personal experiences. Raised in a very multi-cultural environment allowed him open mindedness to develop ideas and values from different perspectives.
Having a respect for the Hip Hop of the 80s and keeping stride with the transition into electronic and Detroit techno of the late 80s and early 90s. The musical influences blossomed here. Early Transmat, Underground Resistance, A.R.T. and WARP artist as Derrick May, Juan Atkins, Carl Craig, Stacey Pullen, Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, Claude Young, Mad Mike, Black Dog, Plaid, B12, LFO, Kirk DeGiorgio, Autechre, Sun Electric, The Orb, Dave Angel and Cabaret Voltaire to keep the list modest, inspired Lunar Phaze to become involved in this magical music scene.
Through the 90s decade, where electronic and dance submerged to different sub-genres, Lunar Phaze enjoyed participating in events surrounded by respected djs and artists from around the world. During these days, further inspiration came from the likes of Dan Curtin, John Tejada, Morgan Geist, Glen Underground, Larry Heard, Masters at Work, Roy Davis Jr., Mark Farina, Derrick Carter, Atjazz, Herbert, Timewriter, Terry Lee Brown Jr. and Miguel Migs with labels as Environ, Peace Frog, Guidance, Naked Music, Pan Handle, DIY and Cyclo. Lunar Phaze dabled in promotions and djing as participant and observer to the evolution of this scene.
However that wasnt enough. After his world travels and participating in international venues and interacting with artists and djs worldwide there was no doubt in his mind that "music is a global fabric that wraps humanities soul !"
Once returning from traveling, Lunar Phaze began the serious journey of self expression through music. Invaluable support from friends, producers, and musicians along with inspiration from global exposure provided a catalyst to create musically. The continuous expression of inner reflections through music as Lunar Phaze pushes creativity within himself and connect others along the way.
