AMUN RA THEATRE'S PERFORMING ARTS ACADEMY ROCKS ON: June 4-July13, 2007, Tennessee State University
The Amun Ra Theatre's Youth Performing ARTs Academy has built up quite a reputation over the last few years. Now operating at full speed, students are engaged in intense instruction in the fields of visual art, music, drama, dance, creative writing, and public speaking.
OUR TEACHERS:
Our professional staff includes Delali A. Potakey (Dance and Movement), Monti McClellan (Visual Art), Kenetha Rogers (Drama), Llewellyn S. A. Peter (Music), and jeff obafemi carr (Creative and Performance Seminar).
OUR CURRICULUM:
Students gather in the mornings and began a rigorous day that works like a college student's schedule. Being on the campus adds a flair for professionalism, and the youth get to rehearse in a real theatre. They practice music in a recital hall, and have instruction in college classrooms. Pretty hip for for kids ages 9-13. The ART Philosophy is to push young people to their limits and beyond with a healthy dose of love. Visit www.theamunratheatre.org for more information and to keep up with the fall Academy dates.
