I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm 44, single and share my apartment two cats: Tupper (nicknamed Squeaks) and Crystal (nicknamed Little Foot). I like to hike in the mountains of Southern California near the Los Angeles area. In the summer I occasionally head into the higher elevations of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. When I'm not hiking, I travel throughout California, Arizona and Nevada, usually visiting ghost towns and cemeteries.

My web site is http://www.ldphotography.net/

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Ok, I don't know what the hell happened, but I'm getting flooded by web cam spamming assholes today. For the past year or two I've been getting one or two friend invites every week from women with a scantily clad picture of themselves as their profile photo. On the rare occasion I actually check the profile page, it's obviously just spam advertising some web cam crap I have absolutely no desire to ever even consider going to. So far today, I've received more than 25 of these annoying "friend" requests.So... New rule. I don't want to lock down my account here with those stupid questions only someone who already knows me and is probably already on my friends list could answer. I did get a legitimate request from someone this past week who would have never made it past that barrier. From now on, any friend requests I receive that don't have a corresponding message in my inbox introducing themselves, will be immediate deleted. No questions asked. Starting retroactively as of midnight last night.Gawd, I hate spammers...

Christmas 2009 in the North

Birthday in the Desert 2009

Going back to the roots of this traditional annual trip, I waited until almost the last minute to decide where I would head and how much time I would spend. I ended up going to the Salton Sea for tw...

There's a new blog in town...

I'm starting a new blog about the out of the way cemeteries in the U.S. Southwest and the pioneers who helped settle, and are now buried in those areas. You can find it here: LINK

Bodie, One More Time

I plan to start a new blog very soon, related to my Pioneer Graves project, and I needed to do a little research for it in Bodie. And, since our Governator has a plan in the works to close more than 2...

Death Valley

It had been almost two years since I'd been to Death Valley, and I have no idea if Minnie had ever been there before, so I decided we were due. I headed there as soon as I got off work Sunday morning,...

Christmas in Gold Country 2008

I wasn't able to spend Christmas day itself in Gold Country this year (I'll save that rant for another place and time), but I managed to keep tradition anyway and head up there a little earlier in the...

Palmdale Blizzard 2008

Well, they were calling it a blizzard on the news, anyway. That's probably too strong of a word, but we did get a lot more snow than this area has seen in a very long time. It was certainly nothing li...

Spending My Birthday With The Utards

This year for my birthday I headed to Utah to meet Cat and Wade (fellow POTN members) and their family. While in Utah I visited Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, Snow Canyon State Park and a coupl...
