About Me

Review from ZXZW Festival in Holland... (Translated from Dutch)...CONCERT... Slightly psychedelic indie-rock with an emphasis on Jeff Buckley plus a barefoot bassplayer with nailpolish! All this around dinnertime in Cul de Sac... MUSIC... Dinnertime is probably one of the reasons the audience at Cul de Sac pull out after a while. The wonderful sounds of Ladycop is unlikely to be the cause. Finally some peace and quiet on ZXZW festival. The drummer doesn't just bang his drumkit in a polite manner, he embellishes the sound of the with some (electro)samples, too. It's the same kind of samples that make the briljant In Rainbows record by Radiohead so special. It's mostly in the details combined with the Buckley-esque vocals that makes this so very beautiful. Where the rest of the acts at Cul de Sac experienced problems with the sound, there's no sign of this with Ladycop... PRO'S... It's a delight in between al the noize at ZXZW to hear a singer that can rip it up in the louder songs and enforce some melancholy on the audience at the same time with his pleasant and infallible vocals...CON'S... Nothing much wrong with this band. Though one might say it's very original, they're great at what they do... CONCLUSION... A lovely band with an exceptionally nice singer... and a bassplayer with polished toenails!
