I love it when people smile and laugh.
I love the Pacific Northwest!
My fondest memory of growing up were of my days at good ole Camp Shankitunk in Delhi, NY.
I am an active Ham and the 2007 & 2008 President of the Virginia Beach Amateur Radio Club, W4UG (www.w4ug.com). I also am a member of the USS Wisconsin Amateur Radio Club, an avid contester and enjoy working DX!
I am career Active Duty US Navy as an Avionics Technician, and currently serve as a building manager for a 132 room barracks which is more like a motel. (Is anyone really reading this???) I know... weird that a career avionics technician is managing a "motel". Thats because I can do anything! Well...except leap tall buildings.. but I'm working on that.
I am a qualified QST-35 Coxswain and certified 2M repair technician too! In laymans terms, I can take a 56 foot boat out to sea and solder under a microscope (but not at the same time).
The following IS THE GREATEST VIDEO EVER MADE!!!
"Dreams" Van Halen
My Career History includes tours working on the following: Grumman EA-6B Prowler, Grumman C-2 Greyhound, Grumman BQM-74E (Hmmm is there a pattern there??). I am also an Honorary Tailhooker after making several catapult launches and arrested landings in the back of a C-2 on various Aircraft Carriers. Nothing like a "Cat" shot to get your blood pumping! If someone were to ask me what a catapult launch is like off an Aircraft Carrier, I would say imagine the most intense roller coaster you have ever been on. Multiply that feeling 10 times and cram it into 1 second! THATS a cat shot!
Yes, I know... I have some strange friends if you look at the comments below!
73 de Alpha India Four Mike Echo. (Thats Hamspeak for those who were wondering! It means "Best Wishes(73) this is(de) AI4ME(My FCC call sign)")
The above map shows where I have actually set foot on.
The following map shows where I have "visited" via the airwaves. I have made contact with these countries, also known as entities in the aspect of world amateur radio, using just a wire strung above the house between trees and a 100 watt radio sitting in the garage. I would like to note that travelbuddy does not list all countries or locations! I am disappointed they do not list such places as the Falkland Islands or the Canary Islands! These are not only separate travel destinations, but also count as a separate country when it comes to amateur radio contacts.
