Jamie has been practicing yoga since 2001 but her practice didn’t really take off until she suffer a knee injury in 2003. A dancer since the age of 4, she found herself suddenly without an physical outlet. She itched to move her body and began practicing Bikram Yoga and then Hatha Yoga. Jamie began teaching yoga in 2004 after relocating to San Francisco from New York. Since then she has continued her studies into Eastern Medicine and Meditation, studying both Ashtanga and Yin forms of Yoga, as well as becoming an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Massage Therapist. Jamie pulls from all of her studies when creating a class and its not unusual to hear poetry, Eastern Philosophy or find yourself learning to balance your energy while in her class. Each class is woven from the energies of the students and their needs. Jamie understands what it is like like to work with injuries and challenges and she prides herself in creating a warm, safe environment for her students to explore their bodies.
Jamie's Ayurvedic Practice is based in San Francisco. She specializes in Tibetan Pulse, Ayurvedic Treatments and Thai, Ayurvedic and Swedish Massage. Jamie offers these in collaboration with Ayurvedic and Chinese Yoga as well as Reiki.
