About Me
Whelm was formed back in 2002 - The intention was to melt darkness, atmostphere & brutality into one crushing wave. The inspiration came in many forms and the music soon took it's own turn, holding elements of : doom, slugde, post-hardcore & psychedelic rock.
November 2004, Whelm arrived at SoundZone Studio, to record the first material ever made, which became "The Prologue". Later on the track " A state of decay" got a place on the "Asymmetry Comp." which was released through Total Rust Records, heading from Israel. "The Prologue" is also available worldwide through Total Rust..
January 2005, the band played live for the very first time, in front of 300 people at a contest called : Danish Metal Grand Prix. Whelm came in 2nd place voted by the audience. After that, the band got themselves a name in the underground and have now played with band such as : Cult Of Luna (Swe), Esoteric (UK), Celestine (IS), Dormah (IS), Sons Of Saturn (FR), Moho (ES), Derotta (ES), Draconian (Swe), Baby Woodrose (DK), Saturnus (DK), Sacrificial (DK), PitchBlack (DK), A Soft Blow To The Temple (DK), Jim Fear (DK), Iota (DK), Non-Lit Drive (DK) and many more.
